DESCRIPTION:
Archpope Achiezer is usually clothed in a pure white robe washed in holy water, and an ephod of pure silver beset with emeralds in a lamellar pattern. Upon this ephod a number of holsters exist for the purpose of carrying various holy items. Sandals of pure silver adorn his feet with stylized crucifixes etched into the sides. Archpope Achiezer wears a good number of holy ornamentation including a silver chain necklace carrying seven silver crucifixes. Also, attached to his wrists and ankles are silver bracelets with the words of the entire bible etched in minuscule arabesque. On his head rests a silver circlet set with a hollow sapphire filled with holy water. Above the circlet he wears an elaborately embroidered silver lined mitre with gold lappets. The Archpope wears twenty silver rings on his fingers and toes each inscribed with a different holy Latin creed. Numerous pouches and bandoliers surround his person to facilitate the storage of more holy items.

PERSONALITY:
Archpope Achiezer is a paranoid madman bent on eradicating all the evil he perceives. Driven mad from more than one thousand years trapped in a tomb with the Holy Chalice, he has a warped sense of religious justice and will often falsely accuse others of heresy, blasphemy, etc. He is a hypocrite, as he often stops at nothing to achieve his goals, even using his inborn demonic powers. Archpope Achiezer believes that all Demons and Templars are a blight upon the realm. However, he reserves an aggressive apathy for Demon Hunters. He is quite egotistical and has a fondness for acquiring titles, even declaring himself the Archpope of his own land. In Inferis, Archpope Achiezer has an increased penchant for persecution, and will not listen to any reason in his lust for the heads of demons. His hatred of demons consumes his soul and he cannot leave Inferis unless his lust for demon blood is satiated. He is a recluse in Real Life, and he prefers the company of his slaves on a mountaintop cathedral, than any real personalities. Archpope Achiezer has an apt mind and is immune to the charms of any incubus or succubus. He has sadistic tendencies and will often brutally torture any demon or pagan he manages to capture. His calculating mind is calm under pressure and has no problem making morally questionable decisions. He holds the lives of civilians with little regard and will often sacrifice them in experiments to study Inferis and the weaknesses of demons.

HISTORY:
Archpope Achiezer was born as Achiezer bar Lamech, the son of a poor Hebrew prostitute working on the streets of Jerusalem. His name, which means Achiezer, son of Despair, refers to the event of his conception around the time of Christ's crucifixion. Lamech, or Despair, was a lesser demon whose name has long been forgotten, even from the secret archives of the Templars. Lamech was originally a poor soul doomed to Inferis, driven mad by the infernal tortures, but somehow was transformed into a demon with relatively weak powers. His insane mind conjured several walruses of doom, which began their pointless mission to inseminate all the women of Jerusalem. All but one walrus were destroyed by the forces of the barrier between Inferis and Real Life. This walrus found Achiezer's mother in an alley, and executed its mission, dissipating into a wisp spelling Lamech. Unbeknownst to them, a thief had recently stowed away the Shroud of Turin in the alley about four days after the crucifixion. For nine months Achiezer's mother used this shroud to keep warm, imbuing Achiezer with holy blood and an aura of infertility. At his birth she named him Achiezer bar Lamech after the name that had been shown by the wisp. Unable to care for him, she left him at the doorstep of a mysterious house with the shroud. In this house resided a demon hunter obsessed with finding the Holy Chalice of immortality. Inside was an assortment of various holy relics and their duplicates, including the Spear of Destiny, the Holy Mandylion, the Sudarium of Oviedo, the Crown of Thorns, pieces of the true cross, and various holy nails. He had traced the cup to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and, having seen a vision implanted by Lamech, decided to bring Achiezer, whom he called Tacitus because of his silence, along. Little did they know, the tomb was actually filled with demons. Crushed by a trap door, the eccentric demon hunter threw Achiezer to the final platform. The demons guarding the Chalice caught a true glimpse of the boy's abilities when he summoned tentacles of castration from the floor and killed the all of the demons with one synchronized squeeze. The Chalice spilled from the pedestal and intermixed with the demon blood, providing sustenance for Achiezer. Effectively immortal, Achiezer spent one thousand and four hundred years sitting in the dark of the tomb with the rotting body of his caretaker, descending into insanity. In the year of 1402 the Knights Hospitaller discovered the ruins of the mausoleum, and took the Chalice, shroud , and Achiezer for study by the Templars. It was in the Templar dungeons in Britain that Achiezer discovered his aura of infertility as his guards slowly became impotent. Further testing revealed that the aura vaporized any alcoholic beverage within several feet. One experiment pitted him against several demons in a controlled environment. Again Achiezer summoned tentacles of castration, painfully killing everyone in the complex. A changed man, Achiezer developed his intense hatred of Demons and Templars, as well as his disregard for civilians here. He took the Chalice, and all of the other relics stored in the base, and settled in England with the name of Estonbrook. The king was so happy of the extermination of the Templars that he bestowed upon Achiezer his many titles. After the crusades, Achiezer went on to Spain to chase heretics under the alias of Torquemada, and ended up being a key figure of the Inquisition. Acquiring unfathomable riches from the conquistadors, he settled in the Andes and built a silver cathedral out of Cerro de Potosi's riches. Desiring control, Achiezer kidnapped priests around the world to be his slaves, doomed to blessing holy water in an assembly line, and finally having their dead corpses thrown into vats of molten silver. He captures pagans to torture in the catacombs of his cathedral. Also, he has captured many mythic creatures, including Sasquatch, Yeti, etc., branding them as 'heretics'. Today's Earthly governments fear him, and the Templars keep a close watch on his actions. He is currently researching a way to open a permanent tear into Infernis, allowing him to continuously dump molten silver and holy water into it.

Archpope Achiezer cooperates with no one, but has a number of slaves and mystical creatures at his disposal. The name of his domain is Daemonophobos, as listed in Templar databases.

REAL-LIFE SKILLS:
Eternal Youth - He is immortal due to drinking of the Holy Chalice.
Aura of Infertility - People become increasingly infertile the more time they spend with him. Fertilized eggs near him are instantly vaporized, and all alcoholic beverages within several feet vanish. This is due to the effects of the Shroud of Turin on his half demon fetus.
Holy Blood - His blood is holy and he is therefore immune to disease, vampirism, and vampire bites. Also due to the effects of the Shroud of Turin.
Tentacles of Castration - In intense situations when surrounded by demons or threatening persons, he can summon tentacles from Infernis which castrate everyone in the general area. An uncontrollable last resort skill inherited from the mad powers of Lamech.
Master Demonologist - The undisputed expert on all things Infernis; he contains more knowledge of demons than demons themselves.

INFERIS SKILLS:
Holy Sense - Ability to sense the nearest holy item or Outpost. All of his holy possessions give him an innate sense.
Holy Scent - Repels all lesser creatures of Infernis away from him. His holy blood gives off a strong repulsive scent.
Raging Tentacles - Twice more powerful tentacles of castration, due to proximity to Infernis, the source of the tentacles.

WEAKNESSES:
Aversion to Publicity - Anything relating to the press, he avoids due to his reclusive nature.
Aversion to Strong Women - His mind cannot process the thought of women not cooking or making sandwiches.
Koschei's Soul - His soul cannot be destroyed or locked in a realm (i.e. banishment or death to Infernis), unless the soul crystal forged by Lamech is destroyed. It is hidden in the farthest and deepest reaches of the Black Sea, inside a labyrinth of underwater caves, inside a silver vault, where a lone walrus of doom lives. Inside the walrus of doom is a fish, and inside that is the crystal. If the walrus of doom is killed, the fish will swim away. The crystal can only be destroyed by holding it in one's teeth while sensually grinding with the archdemon Lucifer while riding on the back of the archdemon Leviathan.
