DEMON DESCRIPTION:
Appearing far more humanoid than demonic, Eris' primary demon form appears to be that of a young woman in her early twenties. Upon closer inspection, however, one can see her true nature. The two features that would likely draw one's eye first is her pink colored retinas and her mouth full of razor sharp teeth. The mimic's skin is a sickly pale, being almost albino in color. Her silvery hair would almost blend in with her skin tone if it wasn't for the light blue and purple highlights. The she-demon wears this in either a tangled mess, or more commonly, braided pigtails that vaguely resemble demonic horns. Eris is fairly slender and fit, having the body of a natural acrobat.
Her clothing choices are always what one would call "skimpy". The shape-shifter wears thin green strips of cloth that just so happen to cover her breasts, although barely. The cloth itself is stitched together by what appears to be sharp teeth from a large demon. In addition to her attire, she wears a pair of dark blue colored thigh high boots, which also seem to be crudely stitched together. The boots are complemented by a pair of sleeves of the same color and make.
Eris isn't too fond of armor, seeing that it would do nothing but slow her down, but she does wear a pair of lightweight metal gloves that gives her the option to block bladed weapons and other hazards if needed to. The toes of her boots are also reinforced with a similar lightweight steel, possibly to improve kicks. The armor also helps the shape-shifter's grip.
MORTAL FORM DESCRIPTION:
Eris' mortal form actually differs very little from her demon form, her anatomical proportions are exactly the same. However, her once sickly pale skin turns a healthier color, making her appear far more human. Her pink retinas also change to a mortal brown color. Her once silvery highlighted hair makes a similar change to a brunette color. All that being said, her teeth also form into more human ''herbivore' teeth. This form is probably the closest thing to what she looked like during life.
Her skin and hair aren't the only things to change. Her outfit also takes a turn. Instead of bright greens, pinks, and dark blues, she now wears a primarily red outfit, highlighted by several gold accents. The outfit is a one piece jumpsuit that barely covers more than what she was previously wearing. Several green feathers highlight the are around her neck, plucked from an unknown avian.
A form once possessed by a demonic ringmaster, Eris stripped the previous owner of this body and claimed it for herself, using her shapeshifting abilities to make it her permanent mortal form. Far more erratic than her previous mortal looks, her new appearance is a reflection of her twisted and jovial personality. With this new mirror image of insanity, Eris now uses her mortal form far more than she used to, preferring it to her demonic form.
Similar to her original form, she appears as a women in her early twenties while under mortal disguise, except now her hair turns a blonde color and her eyes a piercing blue. However, that's pretty much where the normality stops. She always wears a smile, which is complimented by the smeared clown makeup that paints her face. Wearing her hair in a similar fashion to her demonic form, the shapeshifter can occasionally be seen with red and black dye in her hair, highlighting the tips.
Unlike many demons, Eris is able to change clothing choices in this form with relative ease, but is always seen wearing a combination of red and black, usually split down the middle and patterned in a style only a jester would wear. This is usually done in a "grunge" style at that; utilizing mostly leather clothing and torn apparel. A most chaotic form indeed.
PERSONALITY:
The person known as Iezabel Ligeia used to be a brilliant mortal mind, but that person has all but vanished. Her already unstable mind was torn apart by a mixture of stress and extreme trauma, ultimately making her lose control to one of her more malicious personalities. This personality, calling herself Eris, is not just insane, but batshit crazy. She's obsessed with the idea of chaos, and loves causing strife in others lives. It would be inaccurate to say this she-demon enjoyed violence, she's more so addicted to it. She becomes rather moody during long periods of not spilling any blood, and will never pass up the opportunity to slit somebody's throat.
Eris's violent nature doesn't make her at all a mindless beast. She's a master of tricks and traps, often killing her prey before they truly realize what's going on. On it's downfall, she almost always underestimates her foes, believing herself to be superior due to her intellect. That being said, she rarely takes anything serious, viewing everything as an elaborate game. She's known for mocking people and making inappropriate jokes. Speaking of games, she's a damn good chess player, if you can ever get her in the mood for it.
Eris remembers very little of her mortal life, being only a alternate personality at the time. She can only recall the last days of her life when she took control and some early events. Her most prominent memory, however, is that of being beheaded by priests. Because of this, she has a special hatred set aside for the church.
For now, she aligns herself with Lucifer and his Hell Princes, believing it to be the most chaotic cause.
And you thought she couldn't get any worse? Eris has went from batshit crazy to fucking psychopath. As a new memory emerged form the depths of her soul, she became obsessed with carnivals and things related to them. Her new mortal form is a reflection of this, taking the appearance of a deranged clown. She takes events even less seriously than before, viewing life and the afterlife as a literal joke. The demon's kills are more stylish than before, usually performed in a grand ironic and humorous fashion.
You will never see Eris without a smile on her face, which is creepily effective in battle. Even when furious, she will still be laughing and grinning, while bashing your face in, of course, as her fascination with violence has not faltered. She also appears to be aware that she's insane, and embraces this fact, considering it a strength.
Eris' jovial spirit and contradicting chaotic nature make her difficult to work with, and even more difficult to befriend.
HISTORY:
Hell Princes.
SKILLS:
> [ ACROBATICS ] A skill most likely developed while learning how to survive in the hellish landscape of Inferis, Eris is able to do a number of flips and tricks. This makes her especially deadly in combat against less agile opponents, who would be too slow to land a strike. Not only does this set of skills help the demon in combat, but it also allows her to almost effortlessly travel the fiery landscapes of Hell.
> [ FLEXIBILITY ] Perhaps one of the few skills Eris inherited form her mortal life; she is naturally double jointed. This further amplifies her acrobatic abilities, allowing her to perform movements that wouldn't normally be possible.
> [ RAZOR-TEETH ] Eris' most intimidating feature is the layers of sharp, razor blade like teeth that line her mouth. Much like a shark, her teeth will grow back within a mere twelve hours after being knocked out. The teeth are lethal, being able to grind through flesh and bone with minimal effort.
> [ BLOOD SCENT ] Adopting a trait from the carnivorous animal kingdom, Eris is able to smell fresh blood that is as far as fifteen meters away from her. The smell is overpowering and undescrible when the blood is fresh (1 hour after being spilled). Expired blood on the other hand leaves a almost undetectable but foul smell.
> [ MOCKING EXPERTISE ] Another skill inherited from her time on Earth, Eris is able to perfectly mock almost any voice; be it female, of course. This skill doesn't bring her much use in combat, but further allows her to disguise herself in a shape-shifted form.
> [ MINOR REGENERATION ] After being reborn as a demon, Eris gained the ability to naturally heal wounds over time. This by no means makes her invulnerable; the regeneration process is relatively slow and takes days to complete. It does make the demon more resilient than most mortals, and almost always ensures that she will return to fight another day if not completely killed. Becoming entirely more powerful, Eris' body now regenerates slightly quicker. Instead of taking days to complete, any wounds Eris sustains will heal after a twenty four hour period. However, lost limbs still take about a month's time to 'grow back'.
> [ INFERNAL STRENGTH ] Like almost all demons, Eris gains a boost to her physical strength. It is not particularly impressive, only granting her the strength to lift two-hundred and fifty pounds of weight, which is significantly less than other demons of her rank. Killing demons and humans alike daily, Eris has become more physically fit than she previously was. She is now able to lift an extra hundred pounds than before, bringing her new limit to a slightly more impressive three hundred and fifty.
> [ INTELLECT ] A brilliant scholar in life, Eris is by no means a mindless demon. In fact, she is vastly smarter than your average Joe, having an IQ score of 152. She used this to her advantage, often using clever traps and tricks to make her kills. However, her arrogant nature often clouds her better judgement.
> [ RINGMASTER's INFLUENCE ] Her new mortal form is actually the stolen form of the former ringmaster, or leader, of the Smiling Men, whom she promptly slaughtered. The troupe of demonic clowns now look up to Eris as if she was their former master, and will follow her orders when commanded to do so. Not being one for order, her usual command is "do whatever you want and cause trouble".
WEAKNESSES:
> [ DOPPELGANGER'S CURSE ] Perhaps the most obscure of Eris' weaknesses; she is unable to use any of her abilities or her apparatus if somebody simply states her full name three times. In fact, performing this action actually weakens her strength and completely halts her regeneration process. Very aware of this painful weakness, Eris has effectively erased almost all history of her name, going as far to track down several Ottomans in Hell who were alive in her time and knew it. She has even gone through great lengths to remove it from her own head, suppressing the memory just like her alternate personalities.
> [ DECAPITATION ] A weakness shared by many demons, and the cause of Eris' mortal death, she will die if her head is completely severed form her body. Performing this is a lot harder than it sounds, as she is very aware of this weakness.
> [ SHATTERED MIND ] Even though Eris has taken complete control of her body, a small fragment of her other personalities still exists, as she is unable to completely erase memories, only push them back into the deep corners of her soul. Appealing to this side of the she-demon is perhaps more difficult than guessing her real name, as few other than Lucifer himself are even aware that the other personalities exist.
> [ OVERCONFIDENCE ] Eris views nearly all mortal life as worthless as a cockroach's. Due to this, she is infamous for underestimating her opponents. She often loses the upper hand by doing this, especially when pitted against abnormally strong mortals.
> [ CHINESE MAGIC MIRRORS ] A Chinese Magic Mirror is a type of trick mirror that has a image, usually of religious design, carved under the reflective surface of the mirror. If light is reflected on the mirror correctly, the image will appear. The Magic Mirrors, despite their name, are most famously known for their use in Japan where people used them to identify themselves as Christians during the time period where they were being massively persecuted. Having her image reflected in one of these mirrors with a holy carving of Christian origin is anathema to her.
> [ MIRROR FLAW ] No matter what form Eris is in, her demon form will always be reflected in a mirror. She is currently working on a way to work around or fix this, but the progress is slow.
COLOURS:
Eris is able to speak fluent Greek (red), Demon (purple), and English (grey). However, she has also picked up enough Russian (crimson) and French (lavender) to understand it when spoken by another.
TRIVIA:
> Eris is, without a doubt, a cannibal.
> Despite this, her favorite food is actually the golden delicious apple, a mortal delicacy.
> She is occasionally summoned when a ambitious ritualist wants to cause discord in another's life. They usually aren't aware that that also means their lives as well.
> Johnny Knoxville is one of the most famous figures that called upon Eris, who possessed him during some of his more dangerous stunts. She spared his life because his chaotic and reckless behavior pleased her.
> She has a special hatred for priests, seeing that they were the ones who ended her mortal life.
> Eris is believed to be the source behind the doppelganger myths.
> She's pretty good at chess.
> She's a little culturally behind, but not as far as others. Some common concepts such as cell phones or airplanes confuse her. This is usually exploited. Recently, Eris has become more familiar with modern tech, mostly in the weaponry area. She has come across chainsaws, guns, and a few other modern machines.
> Now possessing an 'immortal' body that allows her to do so, she has experimented with many different kinds of drugs. She is particularly fond of hallucinogens. She's surprisingly non-violent when under the effects of these drugs, to her standards, anyway.
> "Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks. When she had saw what she had done, she gave her father forty one." A famous nursery rhyme made from the even more famous murders it's associated with. Little Lizzie truly didn't commit those violent crimes, as she was possessed by Eris at the time.
> Eris also killed Elizabeth Short (aka Black Dahlia) in 1924. Much chaos ensued.
> Eris has a fascination with clowns and carnivals and all things related to them. Their chaotic nature amuses her to no end, to the point where she assumed the form of one.

HISTORY:
- MORTAL LIFE:
- On a cold October night in 1594, an unknown couple gave birth to Iezabel Ligeia. Her birth had no complications and she grew up to be a healthy young girl. He childhood was that of any other girl in her time period, spending most of her time playing in the hills of Greece or helping complete chores, and being completely unaware and uncaring of the Ottoman presence in Greece. One of Iezabel's favorite things to do as a child was to practice mimicking people. While it often got her in trouble as others found it annoying, she was actually pretty good at it. It was a joyful and yet uneventful childhood.
That was, until one day, the once talkative Iezabel fell completely silent. It wasn't as if she was keeping to herself, it was apparent that she actually couldn't talk. No matter what her parents did they couldn't get her to say a word, or even change the blank expression on her face. Worried, her parents called in a doctor to request medical help. However, the doctor dismissed her silence as common illness and put her to bed with some medication. She was back to her normal self the next morning.
In reality, Iezabel was suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder, a mental disease that had not yet been discovered. The first personality to surface was that of a mute. Despite this, she continued to live her normal life for a few more weeks without any episodes.
Then something horrible happened. One day, when Iezabel came home from a day of playing, she was holding a bloody severed head of a lamb. She held out this grotesque prize and said in a tone which the parents had never heard before "I brought this for you", before collapsing on the floor in a fit of maniacal laughter and lamb's blood.
Fearing for their daughter's safety, her parents immediately restrained the girl and called a cleric, fearing that she had become possessed, most likely due to the nature of the mass witch-hunts at the time. Unfortunately, her evil behavior was nothing more than yet another personality, that retreated into the back of Iezabel's mind almost instantly after she was restrained, leaving a confused little girl surrounded by priests and her parents. The strict Orthodox cleric left in a minor fit of anger, calling the whole ordeal a waste of his precious time.
After this, her other two personalities didn't show up again, and she lived out the remainder of her childhood in peace. She began to play outside less and less, rather choosing to learn how to read and write with her wealthy father's books. She became fascinated with Ancient Greek history and mythology at this point in time, ultimately deciding to dedicate her life to the subject. She moved out at the age of seventeen to follow her dreams of becoming a scholar.
She eventually moved into a small place only a few miles away from some recently uncovered ruins. It was the perfect spot, she could study here all she wanted without being bothered. However, something became quickly apparent to her: nobody would listen to her being a woman. She went on to study without being able to publish any of her findings until she was twenty two years old, dealing with the taunting of her other personalities all the way.
Then, like a ray of holy sunshine, a businessman showed up at Iezabel's door. This man did not give a name initially, claiming that it wasn't important. the charming man made her an offer: He would publish her with his name and would give her nearly all of the profit and she only had to do one thing in return, study a mysterious black book and tell him what she thought of it. Being almost too good to be true, the young woman accepted his offer without hesitation. Finally, she could make some money off what she loved doing!
She didn't actually touch the black book given to her until a few weeks after receiving it, almost forgetting about it. The book was old. Very old. Several pages were torn out and ripped. It became obvious that the thick leather cover had been repainted it's sheer black color many times over. The book sparked an interest in her, as it could contain long forgotten history.
This was no history book.
The book was written in a mixture of black ink and blood, spelling out rituals and spells in a blasphemous language. It was obvious, this was a book of witchcraft, and she could be condemned just for having her hands on it. Yet for some reason that didn't stop the ambitious Iezabel, she studied the book and began translating it, telling her mysterious friend everything she found out during his periodic visits to collect her work and drop off money. She made a living like this until she was the age of twenty five.
About a week after her birthday, Iezabel was called by her mysterious contact to come help investigate the ancient ruins near her house. A little more about the man was discovered, it was apparent that he held a lot of power in the history department, as he was in charge of the whole dig. He was also apparently a foreigner, as his first name was finally revealed to her by a fellow researcher: Adam. Nobody knew any information other than that. Some rumored he was a high ranking officer in the Empire, but that was unlikely.
Iezabel was possibly the hardest working scholar called to work on the project, as she often slept at the site and even more commonly neglected sleep to complete more research. This was taking unhealthy stress on her brain. The voices in her head became stronger and harder to silence. One night, something horrible happened again.
She lost control of her of her body to the same malicious personality that beheaded the lamb. She slaughtered the entire team that was still at the site in bloody and brutal manners. Many of the bodies were in pieces and scattered across the site and others were posed in strange manners. Perhaps the most disturbing fact was that many of the small body parts came up missing; several fingers and toes, a few tongues, and a couple eyeballs have never been found.
She woke up in front of her house covered in blood. She had memory of the horrors she committed. She could hear Adam's voice, telling her that everything was going to be okay and that "these risks are ones we have to be willing to face." She soon realized that he was one of the ones amongst the priests and Ottoman guards dragging her away. She knew were she was going, and she knew what was about to happen.
She soon found herself standing before a judge magistrate of the Orthodox clergy, one of the most frightening men you could be brought in front of. The magistrate condemned her for witchcraft as soon as the being known as Adam brought forth the black book, revealing that he found it in Iezabel's house after her arrest. Confused and betrayed, she didn't have a chance to defend herself, and was violently thrown into a holding cell to await her execution.
Her mind was shattered by the time she was in this cell. She violently switched from one personality to another and screamed damnation without stop for two days. She even threw herself against the walls and bars of the cell, bruising her body and bones. On the third day, the day of her execution, she stopped fighting with herself. Only one personality remained, the others were silenced and forgotten about in the deepest darkest corner of her mind. The mute one and her original personality were gone. Only the malicious one remained.
In her final hours, Iezabel sliced her body open and used the blood to write out a sigil in that she recalled from one of the final chapters in the black book. An elaborate ritual, it called for a blood sacrifice of somebody you wished to damn to the flames of Hell. Using her own blood, she had essentially sold her soul. She was dragged off minutes after completing the ritual.
She found herself locked in a stock. Surrounded by people. It was apparent what was about to happen. As the orthodox priest was interrupted several times by taunts and begging from Iezabel, drawing out the entire process. As the executioner raised his axe, she spit at the priest and yelled out her final words "I'll rape your families in Hell!". Seconds after, her head rolled on the stone ground, severed from the body.
The mysterious man, Adam, was among the first to investigate the ritual in her jail cell. Matching it to the one in his black book, he walked away from the scene and wasn't seen in the area again. In an attempt to erase the book from history, the Ottoman Turks only recorded the gruesome murders that Iezabel has committed and hinted at minor witchcraft. Despite this, the book has continued to show up in history in the form of myths, urban legends, and even a certain writer's inspiration. The book is known as the "Necronomicon".END OF MORTAL LIFE
- REBIRTH:
- If swearing herself to Hell wasn't enough to do it, than the brutal murders she committed definitely were. She was reborn in Hell, which she soon realized was actually called Inferis. Her rebirth marked the "deaths" of her other personalities, as they weren't considered powerful enough to be reborn as demons. they are now nothing but a faint memory in the demon's head. To further cut off her ties to her "old self", she began taking on a different name, a name she learned in life, it was only fitting, after all. Iezabel Ligeia was dead, and Eris the demon was born.
Compared to some of the demons in Inferis, Eris was relatively small and weak. She had to rely on her superior intellect to evade the damned souls that wanted to eat her for lunch. It wasn't often too difficult, being more agile than the usually large and clumsy beasts. She lived in this manner for almost a century, at the bottom.
It wasn't until a more intelligent demon trapped her in a corner that she actually had to fight one. The demon was considerably larger and stronger than Eris, and had no trouble defeating her. In a final act of desperation, right when the demon was about to impale her with one of it's deadly claws, Eris jumped out of the way and onto the monster's back. Then, doing the only thing she could think of, gnawed her way into the beast's neck with her razor sharp teeth, biting off chunks and chunks while it struggled to get her off it's back. Eventually, the demon's head was separated from it's body and it was no more.
That wasn't the end of it. Eris's body began to shape and morph painfully, starting with her bone structure. In a matter of seconds, she had taken on the form of the beast she had just slain. it was at this moment that she realized her power, her potential. She began a new and improved life in Inferis, using deception to overpower other demons and slowly work her way up the food chain. It even became fun to her, enjoying the look of terror upon a demon's face as it's murdered by it's own brethren. And she has much bigger plans than pitting lesser demons against each other...
- JANUARY 2012:
- The month of January has been a busy one one for Eris. Perhaps one of the busiest months she had ever had. Interesting and yet mysterious people were met, like the individual she only knew as "Billie Rotten" who possessed a teenaged punk. Something about this individual interested Mockingbird, and she planned to eventually track him down, as he invoked a mysterious emotion in her. Eventually. She did have an eternity to do this, after all. This was just one of the many people she met in the last month. Another being Reverend Smith, the Knight Templar, and a powerful opponent. She was unable to kill him, something a human hadn't been able to prevent in years. There was also the stern and famous Dracula, who she was granted the fine chance to kill with, even if he acted like a smile would end his existence.

Re: Eris, The Deceiver
A few bits, minor.
1 word off of mortal description. Just add something random to it.
Another thing is that in your history, you describe that the Greeks were rather free in their own way and as if they were Catholic, when the Greeks followed the Byzantine religion of Orthodox Christianity, followed by the fact that they were under the Ottomans at the time after the 1400's, at the collapse of the Byzantine Empire. Just a history fart right there. They do not fall under Catholic authority, but in fact were under Orthodox clergy, hence the Catholic Church would not be invested in Ottoman lands in that manner or even attempt to classify the data that was never their business, that rather the Greek Orthodox clergy would.

Re: Eris, The Deceiver
Okay, this is complete. I didn't really change any hard facts. I made amends to some annoying spelling mistakes and better clarified Eris' Skills and Weaknesses section. I also totally re-did both her Demon and Mortal descrptions, as they were previously shitty. Also, I changed the faceclaim (sorta) for her Mortal Form. So....here's a complete list of what I did with this:
I just felt I could do better and it was bugging me...so enjoy. ^^
- Fixed spelling errors.
- Added several pictures.
- Split history into two parts; no actual history was changed.
- Better clarified Skills and Weaknesses. Basic demon skills added.
- Rehashed appearence descriptions.
- Updated faceclaim information.
- Slightly updated trivia section.
I just felt I could do better and it was bugging me...so enjoy. ^^
