B E S T I A R Y

The bestiary is a bank of all the known common and elite unnamed - and sometimes named - Demons, and sometimes even Angels, in Inferis. Think of it as a knowledge bank of all the demon "races" you'll find - different types usually unique to each region. This doesn't mean you have to restrict your Demon character to one of these sorts, but if you feel as if you want to inspire them from one of the standard items in the bestiary, feel free.

B E S T I A R Y / A P P L I C A T I O N

Deus Mortuus is a collaborative universe that we believe everyone should be able to contribute to - and for this reason, we have included a stickied Bestiary template. If you wish to actually create a new type of Demon, or have made one inadvertently in your post and think that other people should be able to look over and potentially browse it, fill out the Bestiary Template and post it in the Bestiary Applications sub-forum, where a staff member will look over it, ask you to tweak any potential problems with it, and hopefully eventually approve and number it so you can file it into the Bestiary amongst the other ranks!

Note that named and specific Demons do not classify as a type of Demons - so you can't exactly file a bestiary entry for your Demon character unless they're, say, a sterling example of a breed or type of Demons.

There are really no restrictions on Demons you can apply for in the Bestiary, but as a general rule, they won't be accepted if they're presented as omnipotent or more powerful than Archdemons. Elite Demons are fine and will most likely be used as boss-type characters - but if your Demon is too similar to one already in the Bestiary, we may have to deny it or ask for an overhaul.

B E S T I A R Y / F U N C T I O N

The Bestiary's main function is just to further flesh out the fauna of Inferis and give it some diversity - with ten wildly different regions, we'll have a plethora of Demon life to choose from, and we want you to help construct them! The Bestiary will also be referenced and used in tandem with the NPC Demons and NPC Elite Demons accounts (see the Combat Information thread for more light to be shed on this), and it's just a bit of fun, really. Also, if you want to provide some overt definition for an enemy type you want to encounter in the future - however near or distant it may be - this is the place.
