We encourage a progressive character growth at Deus Mortuus, and as such, there are restrictions imposed on what you can do dependent upon your level. Points are a site-wide currency that are often gambled with and utilised in order to "buy" objects, typically level-ups, but sometimes other things that can be utilised IC. They can be acquired through numerous means.

Points can be freely transferred from a Level 4 character to any others, but otherwise must be earned by that character specifically. PM Lazarus Carter, Cael Gladius, Alice the Chopper, Jinhong Jangmi, or Belial to have this done. All characters begin at Level 1 unless otherwise permitted - and this is only usually in plot cases.

P O I N T S / A C Q U I S I T I O N

Points can be acquired through numerous means as listed below:

• Posting in an IC thread with an approved character (3 points per post)
  
• Posting in a flashback or journal thread with an approved character (3 points per post)
  
• Finishing an IC thread with an approved character (5 points to each participant)
  
• Taking part and finishing an IC plot event (Dependent upon specific event)
  
• Completing a successful encounter with NPC Demons, Humans, or Angels (10-25 points typically)
  
• Completing a successful encounter with NPC Elite Demons or Elite Angels (25-50 points typically)
  
• Winning Quote of the Month (15 points for winner, 5 points for two runners-up)
  
• Submitting an approved Bestiary entry (10 points per entry, can be done up to three times)
  
• Referring another user to Deus Mortuus (5 points per referral, can be done an unlimited amount of times, PM a staff member)
  
• Joining Deus Mortuus from one of our sister sites (20 points for your first character, obviously only done once)
  
• Posting Deus Mortuus' advertisement on other forums (5 points per posted ad, can be done three times per user, PM a staff member)
  
• Destroying an Archdemon or Archangel (200 points, good luck, if multiple characters, distributed between them evenly)
  

P O I N T S / L E V E L I N G

Points are most commonly used for Leveling:

• Level 1 (0 points)
  Demon Hunters begin with one Evocation.
  Demons begin with one Apparatus.
  Ritualists begin with one Amalgam and one Inferis Morph.
  Templars begin with one Augment.
  Angels begin with one Gear.
  
• Level 2 (100 points)
  Demon Hunters receive an extra two Evocations (total: 3).
  Demons receive an extra one Apparatus (total: 2).
  Ritualists receive an extra one Amalgam (total: 2) and an extra one Inferis Morph (total: 2).
  Templars receive an extra one Augment (total: 2).
  Angels receive an extra one Gear (total: 2).
  
• Level 3 (200 points)
  Demon Hunters receive an extra three Evocations (total: 6).
  Demons receive an extra two Apparatuses (total: 4).
  Ritualists receive an extra one Amalgam (total: 3) and an extra one Inferis Morph (total: 3).
  Templars receive an extra one Augment (total: 3).
  Angels receive an extra one Gear (total: 3).
  
• Level 4 (400 points)
  Demon Hunters receive an extra four Evocations (total: 10).
  Demons receive an extra two Apparatuses (total: 6).
  Ritualists receive an extra two Amalgams (total: 5) and an extra one Inferis Morph (total: 4).
  Templars receive an extra one Augment (total: 4).
  Angels receive an extra one Gear (total: 4).
  
• Level X
  Archdemons are one of two character types that can reach Level X - infact, they begin at Level X, with a total of eight Apparatuses, alongside their own Bastion and specialised Demon type.
  Archangels are one of two character types that can reach Level X - infact, they begin at Level X, with a total of five Gears, alongside their own Skyhaven and specialised Angel type; not to mention typically a vast breadth of weaponry.
  

Upon the event that you have enough points to cross the next level threshold, PM or ask a staff member in the chatbox (not the Librarians or Beastmasters) and they'll move it over. From this date you'll have two weeks to work on your level-up, but you're only requested to add at least one paragraph to your character's Personality and History for every fresh level - anything else you want to modify or add to is entirely down to you.

We do strongly recommend you add these level-up changes in different colour to the plain text so it's easier for you and other members to trace the path of development. Your ability and/or equipment apps will be moved as well upon request.

P O I N T S / O T H E R

Points, however, are not just used for purchasing level-ups: there are certain other things they can be used to buy. These will be added to as the plot advances and goes on.

• Templar CrossGear for Civilians (30 points, must be justified IC)
  
• Personalised sub-forum, such as a faction base or character home, in the Real World, for humans (30 points)
  
• Personalised sub-forum, for Demons, inside their home sphere in Inferis (40 points)
  
• Personalised sub-forum, for Angels, inside their Skyhaven in Inferis (40 points)
  
• Personalised sub-forum, such as a faction outpost or non-Demon safezone, for humans (50 points)
  
• Seventh Apparatus slot, for regular Demons (70 points)
