So with the advent of E3 over these next three days, I've decided to establish a gaming general in tandem with a few other media discussion sub-boards.

And to crown this gaming marathon, cause I know a lot of you are heavy gamers, I bring to you a game you're probably familiar with if you like Western AAA vidjas. Watch Dogs. It's like a stylised variant of that sci-fi future utopia you see across the board, everything hyper-connected, with a gritty undertone to the whole thing. And the entire game is based around hacking, specifically gameplay.

I'm kind of abstaining from watching anything other than cinematic trailers purely because I don't want to get overhyped for Watch Dogs and lose interest or whatever, but, dropping in the last quarter of 2013 - November, I believe - this REALLY does look excellent.

Hopefully we'll learn a little more about the mechanics over the next few days. What does everyone else think?

Oh that looks interesting... Though I wish this trailer actually told us something about the game its self. Though... This sounds absolutely amazing so far.

Luckily that trailer's actually a year-old one. Over the past few months actual gameplay trailers have been released. Essentially, you play a wronged hacker named Aiden Pearce who "takes justice into his own hands".

It's basically GTA with hacking. Gameplay has shown Aiden being able to take control of everything from people's cellphones to traffic lights (to engineer accidents), train lines, and... well, fuck, anything. Pretty sure this is the first time information technology has actually been incorporated into gameplay NOT as a minigame this decade (only other example I can think of is Deus Ex), and definitely the first time I can think of it's been done real-time as an ACTIVE part of combat. I'm really excited.

Yeah so all I have to say is expect a hiatus when the PS4 is released hahahaa. I'll be making copious amounts of fiery love to it.
