OVERVIEW

Of all Ritualist groups, Green Sun's true origins date back furthest of all - indeed to 1054 A.D.'s Great Schism of the church, where, similarly, a small group of Templars split away from the main body, numbering then about two hundred strong, and deciding to delve into arts they'd been told were far more taboo than was knowingly possible and in violation of all their God stood for. However, whilst they prospered in secret for over three hundred years, by 1400, their numbers had dwindled, and a great Templar purge instead disguised as a group of Spanish Conquistadors eliminated them, in full, across the Americas at the turn of the sixteenth century.

Much of Green Sun's work was destroyed, and all speak of it had become taboo - mention of the organisation was up until recently punishable by internal execution. However, a fraction of the research was saved by the Order and kept in storage incase - God forbid - the cabal rose another day, and the research could be used to track them down once more. The Green Sun Defection is famously known as the largest example of Templar betrayal in the past millennium.

That said, after the Second World War, mysteriously, an organisation raised its head and created a very small amount of waves in the underground world of Ritualism, instead seeing their newfound origin in and around the city of Irkutsk, typically subterranean. Legend says that the illegitimate children of some of the ex-Templars that split away, heritage of the bloodline, somehow produced masses of both funding and drive, and resurfaced Green Sun in the 1950s. In cold storage with liberated scientific apparatus, for the past sixty years, on the outskirts of the city, Green Sun have remained VERY careful, keeping their numbers to just over two dozen, and only EVER choosing to raise their head when required to.

Now they practice in the scientific investigation of Ritualism as an art; though morbid, they try to amalgamate both their spiritual condition and their knowledge of the body and the mind, most either learned scientists or loyal acolytes, who devote their free time and resources to the Sun's many projects, in an effort to uncover the mysteries of Ritualism, and hopefully divine anything they can about it: and in the process, many, if not all, have similarly devoted their bodies to Demons, yearning for further knowledge, in an exchange to reach either power or an elevated level of intelligence.

EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING
Green Sun are not out and out a militaristic group: it is recommended you have form of history, or perhaps occupation, in either the body or the mind, or a great interest in the inner mechanisms of Ritualism and its function. Simple. Of course; those that join having already devoted their bodies to the arts will have their Amalgams. Occasionally Green Sun's members do indulge themselves in some of the darker sides of things associated with Ritualism, but it is not common practice, such as the activities of Red Love or Blackgate, and indeed Firefly.

ADDED NOTES
At this time, limited to either Ritualists, or Civilians with a great deal of interest - i.e. obsession-level - with Ritualism. Recommended you come with money or some valuable resource - Green Sun tend to approach rather than be approached. Civilians tend to be more quickly placed as Neophytes, whether experienced Ritualists with appropriate experience or skill in regards to the psyche or the body are more likely to be given the role of true Member, but this is not set in stone.
