DESCRIPTION:
- Dark Templar - My armor is Contempt - This is the basic armor that Darius will most frequently be seen wearing. Designed to be worn in even the toughest situations, it is a good shield for the man within. The armor itself stands at 7'4 high and weighs a good 700 kg on its own, fitting Darius like a glove. It is mechanically driven, using either Kinetic or Soul Energy as a power source to keep it running almost eternally. A battery pack on the back starts it up and runs it for three rounds beforehand. The armor has several boons and weaknesses that will be listed below:

Boons

  • Mechanically increases Darius' strength by 1.5x
  • Implanted Re-breather allows immunity to gas-based toxins.
  • Mechanics increase charge speed to 35kph over 100m. In-built kinetic suppressors can slow the charge to a manageable speed within 50m.
  • Titanium build makes the armor difficult to penetrate in most situations.
  • Inbuilt HUD allows for tracking of multiple targets within 25m of the suit.
  • If damaged while on Inferis, it will repair itself over time using Soul Energy. Most minor damage will require 25-30 minutes of repair, while anything major may require upwards of three hours of non-use.


Weaknesses

  • Reduces Darius' mobility by 25%.
  • Cannot function underwater--the rebreather does not allow for filtering of water, and the armor is not watertight.
  • Weight makes it undesirable on weak terrain.
  • If it falls, it takes some time to get back up. This time is crucial to defeating him.
  • Has small openings that can be manipulated if noticed. These could disable mechanics, leaving Darius in-need of a repair. Even though it self-repairs, there is a long wait while it does so. Damaging circuits could even leave him stranded.


- Dark Paladin - There is no fear in Conviction - This is the big bastard. Used for when Darius needs to really get in touch with a powerful enemy, it has been nicknamed 'Terminator' by both his allies and enemies alike. This armor, though still 7'4, weighs over 1000kg. As with the Dark Templar, the Dark Paladin as boons and weaknesses alike.

Boons

  • Mechanically increases Darius' base strength by 3x.
  • Implanted rebreather allows for immunity to toxins, as well as the ability to breathe underwater.
  • Mechanics increase charge speed to 50kph over 200m. In-built kinetic suppressors reduce charge speed to a manageable level over 150m.
  • Armor is forged of Osmium, one of the hardest substances known to man. It is almost impossible to penetrate with conventional weaponry.
  • Is watertight, and can function underwater.
  • Inbuilt HUD allows for tracking of multiple targets up to 50m away.
  • While on Inferis, armor can self-repair using Soul Energy. Most minor damage will require 25-30 minutes of repair, while anything major may require upwards of three hours of non-use.
  • Jump Jets give the ability to fly for very short distances. The jets have ten charges and regenerate a charge every three rounds. Darius uses them to jump up to 50m in the air and up to 30m in distance. Armor has specialized shock absorbers that allow for the fall's damage to be suppressed.


Weaknesses

  • Mobility is reduced by 65% while in the armor.
  • Though underwater function is possible, mobility is reduced by a further 50% (down to 25%) while doing so. Movement speed is unaffected.
  • Self-repair takes a long time. It is not recommended to do so unless absolutely sure of safety.
  • Weight makes all but the most stable surfaces unreliable.
  • Doesn't really have chasing power. While it has a charge and the jump jets, it still takes time to get to a high enough movement speed to give chase.
  • If it falls over, it won't get up for a long time.
  • Although it is extremely stable on flat land, blunt kinetic force is the key to defeating it. Its stability drive will only keep it up after so much force; the more applied force overall, the better.


- Heretic's Bane - Cease and Repent! - This is Darius' anti-human weapon. It is designed to be wielded, not in Inferis, but on Earth. As such, it is really only taken on Earth-based missions. Zweihander swords are naturally very large, but as this one is designed to be wielded in both hands by Darius himself, it is much, much, much fucking larger. While most reach lengths of approximately 180 cm, this one has reached a length of 240. While most weigh about 3kg, this one weighs five. Other than that, it has no real special features that distinguish it from other swords. Cleaves through flesh and bone like little else. Usable both with or without armor.

- Demongutter - Kill the Demon - This, on the other hand, is Darius' anti-demon weapon. Taken into Inferis alongside the Great Aegis, it is forged of the purest silver and cleansed with holy rites. A Greatsword that has tasted much Demonic blood, the Demongutter is wielded in one of Darius' gigantic hands. It supposedly does more damage to Demons, but each falls in the same manner as a human does--just with a bit more screeching. Usable both with or without armor.

- Great Aegis - Be Pure - A shield with any other name would not defend so well. The Great Aegis is a treasured object by Darius; carried with him as a symbol (not that he needs any more) in Inferis of his position and power. He plans to have it passed down to his successor. The shield itself is forged of the same material as the Dark Paladin armor, Osmium, and as such is extremely difficult to even dent. The colors upon it have faded, and the paint chipped away, yet even after fifteen years of service the shield has not given in. Only used while armored.

- Giantslayer - The Mighty Have No Room For Doubt - For when the enemy is just that little bit too large, Darius uses this. Now if you thought that the Heretic's Bane was large, you haven't seen anything yet. Almost as tall as the wielder and extremely hefty, the Giantslayer's blade is forged to be sharp enough to slice through all but the mightiest armor. The smaller end can be used to hook enemies closer, and it will cleave nigh any enemy in twain with a single downward slice. Only used while armored.

- Piercing Light - Blessed are the Gun Makers - Yes, it's a rifle. It's a rather large rifle too, firing 50 calibre rounds in a semi-automatic fashion. Modelled after the Barrett M82 rifle, this weapon is large enough to be used by even the excessive fingers of his armor. This weapon is used to nail targets at a distance (obviously) and especially across water--the heft of his Templar armor means that he cannot actually go into water and expect to come out alive. A magazine carries 15 rounds, and he carries ten magazines when he needs them. It has an effective range of 2 kilometres. Only used while armored.
