Lincoln Memorial

Washington DC. Honestly a place that Kazuya did not like visiting. Not because it was crowded, not because it was self righteous, not even because of all the poor people. No, He hated vising this place because he hated visiting the USA as a whole. This was it's capitol and thus the place that was trying to cram as much America in per square mile. Everything here wasn't just American, it was freedom! It was sickening. At least in Tokyo they didn't make you eat some thing called samurai fries or ninja cakes. It was just so annoying. Not only that but it seemed that the people who lived in this place were the only people in the country that wanted to here less than Kazuya. Most of them were homeless or damned near. The ones that didn't have federal jobs and massive salaries were just one moment away from dying from exposure. Gangs ran the streets right behind the white house and drugs flowed like lies here. What an amazing symbol of America. It was pretty and patriotic until you looked behind the curtain. Then it hated itself and was poor as dirt. That was one thing Kazuya could admire, the poetry of truth that rang out from this city.

He stepped out of his limousine and walked up the gigantically wide steps that led up to the massive statue of Abraham Lincoln. "Huh." he muttered to himself, "I wonder if you would like what the country you tried so hard to keep together has become?" he shook his prematurely white hair and tossed it back out of his face. He still missed the dark hue his hair used to be. now it was odd and white like an old man's. he did not like it. Though it did give him a very unique look that nearly no one else had, certainly not naturally. You didn't get that naturally, Kazuya-kun. Come now, you aren't usually one for self delusion. "I meant that It happened with out any outside chemicals." he spoke out though quietly. He found it was easier to speak out loud to Hanzo.  He could just think the old ninja but speaking helped him keep the distinction of who he was an who his passenger was. The spirits around us are natural as you and I, aren't they? Hanzo 'spoke' more to himself than to Kazuya, he often mused over things in Kazuya's mind. It wasn't something Kazuya minded. After all it often gave him something to think about.

Now what do we have here Kazuya-kun? Kazuya's black eyes flicked to the left as he was prompted by Hanzo. "Indeed." there was someone coming. He could tell at first glance, and with the help of his partner, that this person wasn't of the normal variety. he didn't know exactly what they were but he might just well find out. He kept them in his vision as they neared the giant stone form of the Liberator. "He must have truly been a great man." he said, loud enough for the new person to hear him. His Japanese accent still rather obvious and thick. He turned his face toward them with a very neutral expression. "To be immortalized in stone one must be great after all."

What- the hell was she doing here?  OH RIGHT!  She was tracking.  Some villain was avoiding her and running amok in DC, what a surprise, right?  Would she ever actually have a break?  It seemed unlikely, because the more she tried to, the more she was sucked back in because of some psychopath.  However, her leads had already caught said felon- but now she was stuck standing and staring.  It wasn't at anything in specific, but she was thoughtful.

"He must have truly been a great man."  Lisa could barely recognize the call of someone trying to address her. She had only assumed no one was talking to her- but then she realized that there was no one else there?  "Wh-?"  She had barely started before the man continued.  "To be immortalized in stone one must be great after all."  OH.  He was talking about the man in front of them.  Towering high and staring into the world through vacant eyes.

"Ya." She sighed.  He was a highlight of the country.  Sadly things were getting rather crazy now, which made her wonder how he would look at them all now...  Her eyes closed and she took a deep breath, then looked at the man. Mmm.. sweet poisonous city air.  ANYWAYS.. conversation.  She wanted to comment on his accent, but she felt that it would be rude. "Amazing a single person can inspire such change."  Her own accent slipped in.

And there she was. How quaint. Kazuya let his black eyes trailed over the form that walked up next to him. She was obviously someone with some kind of official capacity here. Nothing too important though. She didn't have the self important air of a politician or activist, nor the money to be a lobbyist. Not only that but her clothes spoke volumes about her. She wore a suit, well, sort of. Though it wasn't tailored. It certainly was not trashy but it looked like the pieces had been bought at some chain store. Nothing like his suit. His ebony black hand-made Egyptian cotton suit with a silk dress shirt and tie. His tie pin was white gold with a single perfectly cut piece of jet inn the center. His cuff links were jade studs set into platinum. Then again, Kazuya never wore anything but the best. He needed his clothes to be functional and to speak of his status at the first glance. he couldn't have people thinking he was just some random person on the street after all. He knew it might make him a target for degenerates but he might even enjoy them trying to take what was his. Her voice had sort of a bubbly wobble to it. Somewhat shakey. He turned to face her all the way so that he could get a better look at her. She's cute. She did have a sort of allure to her, though he was a man after all and it was hard not to notice a woman's attractiveness. His eyes trailed to her finger nails, no yellowing, so likely not a stimulant user. In that case it was most likely that she had recently consumed some kind of sugary food. it was still early here, and Americans loved their sugary breakfasts. Likely she'd just woofed down some pancakes smothered in syrup. Disgusting.

Kazuya bowed slightly as faced hr. he knew it wasn't an American custom but old habits die hard and he had no intention of losing his countries customs. "Through out history men have always wanted to carve great men into stone." He turned his gaze sideways to the giant statue. "Take for instance the Egyptians. They forced slaves to build great monuments to their likeness. Those men worked to death just to craft a grave for a man they would never see and who did nothing but cause them pain." Kazuya turned his somewhat cold gaze back to this small girl before him. "I am Hattori Kazuya, archaeologist and sociologist." he bowed again as he introduced himself, "Perhaps we should be wary of what is told about men carved in stone. They might be devils as much as angels to those who cut them into the rock."

The woman found her company looking at her, which was a bit odd, as Lisa was probably one of the more plain people around. However, whether it be his accent or the strange socialism the man had, she found herself intrigued enough to stay. Besides, they'd already started talking and it was rude to just walk away now. She may have been an American, but she did hold respectable manners.

His eyes seemed distant as he spoke of stone and how people always carved figures into stone. He was right, but it made her wonder a bit on the monuments that didn't look like those whom they portrayed. For a moment she sighed in relief. Thank god for technology, because she really didn't want to spend her life slaving away to another person's. Then again- that was a version of employment and though she didn't get whipped when she was in the wrong, she did get a vicious tongue-lashing. It wasn't the same but it was vaguely similar. VAGUELY.

Lisa turned and smiled at him. "Devils, huh?" Again, something Lisa didn't really believe in, but she could at least appreciate the reference. She really didn't need the rest of her day to be a Scooby-Doo encounter. He had bowed to her which was strange and she felt the need to curtsy- except that it was a bit hard to do in the skirt.

She held out her hand for a handshake (as was custom with how she was taught). "A pleasure, Mr Hattori Kazuya. I am Lisa Smith." IT was only fair to introduce herself now, right? There was definitely something different about this man, though. "You're not from around here, are you?" Naturally it wasn't in anything but a light-hearted manner. She had noticed his accent and the way he had bowed . NO person in DC had those kinds of manners. You were lucky to get a 'WATCH IT', yelled at you.

Ninja in America (OPEN) Empty Re: Ninja in America (OPEN)

And there was another American custom that Kazuya did not care for at all. He didn't understand why the European people always wanted to touch you when they met you, or said good bye or completed a business deal. They were terrible about it. Always wanting to hold your hand or kiss you. Nothing compared to the people in Mid East. There were an interesting bunch to say the least. Men walking down the streets while holding hands and sitting closer than lovers in their private homes yet out in public. However, show a single eye lash of your wife and suddenly you needed to beat her to death. An over exaggeration for most of the countries there but still relevant. Oh well, no reason to be rude. After all, when in Rome do as the Romans do. Kazuya extended his hand to her and gaze it a firm and polite shake. He knew all about handshakes. He had, after all, been the CEO of a multi-national company for a few years. Many times he was forced into positions where he would need to touch some gaijin for whatever reason. He drew his hand back and placed it formally at his side. He looked directly at Lisa with his casual gaze, one that seemed more like a glare than a normal look to most people, and cleared his throat. "A pleasure to meet your acquaintance as well Lisa Smith." Kazuya put a small smile on his face to match her's. It was almost unnatural for him to do that with his face. He didn't understand why people thought it was required to look at happy at all times. After all they were having a discussion about slave driven monuments, not exactly a happy topic.

"No, I am not from around here." He slid his hands behind him and grasped his wrists. "I imagine it is very obvious that I haven't spent much time in the United States." He looked over and down the stairs. Across the small parking lot there sat his black car. He had never driven it, but he did have a great driver. The thought crossed his mind that maybe it was a good thing he didn't drive. The few times he had he'd been terrified and he'd even backed into a trash can once. That was, the last time he had gotten behind the wheel. His gaze returned to Lisa Smith. "So, Lisa Smith, are you from this countries capitol?" his question was rather direct. then again, she had asked him if he was from here. it was only natural to return the question.

Post by Agent Lisa Mon Aug 12, 2013 11:16 am

The man seemed a bit mad as he looked at her, but then- he did look like an important figure.  Her dainty fingers were small against his hand, but handshake aside she was feeling much better.  His hands immediately went behind his back and hers rested at her side.  The general standing of conversation.

He didn't like to make eye contact.  It seemed obvious as his eyes darted thing to thing; as if to avoid her.  Had she upset him, perhaps?  If she had- she wasn't sure what she had done, but oh well.  Either way, they were still talking so that was a plus.  With an admittance she found the truth in him not being around here, so she hadn't embarrassed herself in that aspect.  Good job, Lisa!  Her mind gave herself a mental pat on the back.

"Me? From DC?"  The thought amused her enough to earn a little giggle.  "No, I'm from Virginia.  I'm up here on business."  Not a lie.  Again, had she been lying it would have been obvious because Lisa was terrible at lying.  Given the way she had been told, she looked like she was having a seizure when she lied.  Fabulous thought.  "It's nice up here, some days.  A lot of times I miss the country, though."

She was probably never much of a city girl, despite her job.  As much as she loved candy shops, being around so many people was obnoxious.  Not to mention that the month prior some jerk had tried to rape her.  Man was she glad she had at least a little fight in her.  "Are you a city person?"  He looked it with his snazzy suit.  The question was sort of blurted out, without much thought.

Hmm, interesting. he was right about her being some kind of business person, being here on business that is. Maybe she wasn't the usual type of business person though. She had some what rougher hands than he would have expected from some poor slave trapped behind a desk yet not the hands of a worker. That was also a good sign. He couldn't stand talking to the 'common people' so often he would end up moving into a conversation that they could not follow. How sad was it that higher education was a choice that some people did not take? Why would anyone want to live their life in ignorance and stupidity? Kazuya could not fathom such things so he let them pass from his mind. Besides this girl had a light in her eyes aside from the sugar high, there was intelligence, at least some.

"Virginia?" he had to quickly search his mental library to remember where that was. Oh yes, it was just south of DC. "I have never been to that... sate." they called them states right? yes of course they did. It was the United States after all. "Though, it is a country state?" oh no, he was nearing the limits of his skills with English. he hoped beyond hope she would not think him uneducated. He severely disliked it when people got the wrong impression of him. Perhaps he should use his English more often. It was rather helpful he'd noticed. "I am from a large city." He couldn't help but chuckle a tiny bit. There really weren't any small cities in Japan after all. Some very small town but not small cities. "I am from Osaka. A very large city. Though, it is surrounded by country." he didn't know why he was talking about his old home with this woman but here he was, carrying on. "I used to go for lots of hikes in the mountains outside of Osaka."

Post by Agent Lisa Mon Aug 12, 2013 12:25 pm

Slowly his words seemed to get a bit strained and for a moment Lisa felt bad. She wished she knew a way to talk to him so that he wasn't struggling, but she knew pretty well he wasn't Dutch, so there was no way to help him there. It was a tinge of gratefulness that buried into her heart that her father had settled in America. She'd grown up with two languages, which made adapting a lot easier.

"Osaka?" She'd heard of it before. "Wait- Osaka- JAPAN?!" She was probably way too enthusiastic about it, which made her blush. "Sorry! I didn't mean to shout- just! I never met someone from Japan, before." She hoped she wasn't going too much like that. "Especially not from Osaka!" This time she cleared her throat and looked away. Though rude in her culture, she didn't want to look like a creeper or anything of that sort. Her hand went behind her head and fixed her hair for a minute and to help calm her nerves.

"That's exciting- to me. I mean I was just born in Rivertown, so it's not very big. Practically a forest." Her face was beaming. It was odd for her to feel so childish, but Japan was practically a required place to visit in life.

Oh look at that. She likes Japan. Hanzo burst into maniacal laughter in Kazuya's mind. You should take her back to Osaka with you. Maybe tie her to- SILENCE! He didn't need Hanzo's input here. This was a simple conversation. Not a batter or a theft or anything that he needed the old ninja's help with. No, he could deal with his iterations perfectly fine. The damn demon was so loud he nearly missed where Lisa said she was born. What kind of person misses details when they are being directly spoken to? No, Kazuya did no need Hanzo's help or sarcasm in this case. he didn't need his help all. The old man needed to learn his place in this partnership, at least he needed to be reminded from time to time.

Now that Kazuya had calmed his dark passenger he could focus on the matter at hand, whatever that was. "It is fine to be excited." he smiled as he attempted to console the girl's embarrassment at her own excitement. He had been excited about many things before, even about leaving Japan for the first time, when he was a child. Then again, perhaps he was jaded by his breath of experience. He'd been to nearly every place in the world worth visiting and even places in the underworld. At a certain point, nothing is really interesting anymore. Well, aside from new knowledge and secrets. "Well now you have have met someone from japan. And I've met someone from Rivertown Virginia. We can both cross a type of person off our list of people to meet." He held his smile and, this time, kept his gaze on her. Though he did not make direct eye contact. Old habits did die hard. "I often spent more time in the forest than I would in the city. At least as a young boy. I did not like being surrounded by buildings. Better to be one with nature, I think."

He wasn't scared by her enthusiasm, that was always a good thing. Her lips pulled into a smile once more, purely elated that he didn't run away. No eye contact was made, but again, he was from a different world from her own. She felt kind of bad that she didn't know very many Japanese customs. She knew they bowed and took their shoes off in people's houses, but outside of that she didn't know a whole loot more.

"I know what you mean. I couldn't agree more, actually." Of course she wasn't trying to be just agreeable, she was being sincere. There was just something refreshing about walking barefoot in their courtyard at home. For a moment, she remembered chasing her brother down with a shoe because he'd ruined her prom dress. Oh the good old days. Now she lived on her own and rarely saw him. Of course he was in school still, so he was at that 'teenage' stage of life. Thank God that was over for her.

She had so many questions to ask him, but she didn't want to overwhelm him. She could just as easily look them up later too. Still her nerves were on end and overwhelmed with her excitement. "Anyways. Are yoou here on business too, I'm guessing, ya?" There went a slip of her Dutch into the sentence.

Post by Hattori Kazuya Mon Aug 12, 2013 1:53 pm

It was nice to meet someone else in touch with nature. He'd spent his entire life in a sort of interesting relationship with nature. it was only once he began his walk down the path of ritualism that he ever realized that the words of Shinto were more than just stories and little tales told to children and ignorant villagers. He had always longed to believe but could never manage to keep the scientific and faithful parts of his mind from fighting. That was, until he received proof of the magic of the world around him, It was not exactly what Shinto had told but it was close. After all, not every faith was exact. His was close though. He had devoted himself fully to the cause after that. Searching for ancient knowledge and gaining more experience than most people would ever even imagine. Even then, there were places in the underworld that were just like the human world or even more natural. It was such a mystical place, a place he was fused with until his death.

Business? Oh yes we are. We are here looking for a tear into the underworld so that we can talk to an ancient vampire. Go ahead tell her. I wonder how fast she would run. Kazuya paid his passenger no mind. He had exhausted his welcome here and now was just trying to get attention. In the end all demons were childish. so pathetic. All those years and they never truly grew up. Each just a slave to their base nature. it was why humans were superior. "I am actually not here on business." he looked down at himself. he could see why she would assume he would be. His suit was designed to make him look very business like and serious. "I'm here to take in the sights. "That wasn't true. Though the idea of the Japanese tourist wasn't too far fetched after all. though, most weren't wearing ten thousand dollar suits. " I have only been to Washington D.C. one other time and it was for business. I did not have any time to see the sights. In fact, I did not even get to do anything outside aside from walk to my car and then walk to the door of an office." that part was true. His last trip to DC was years ago and he did not do anything fun. though he did secure a powerful contract. "What is your business here?" he didn't realize how confrontational his words might have sounded but he didn't mean it as it sounded.

She found it odd. He wasn't here on business but he dressed in that suit. It looked like something that would be uncomfortable to tour through DC in. She didn't want to assume her new friend was a liar, though, so she just let it go and-

"You look hot," she blurted once more. Suddenly spoke once more. "I mean in the suit- it seems like it would be hot." Her hands waved in front of her to show she meant no offense or unwanted thoughts on the matter. "Not that you aren't attractive- I just- Hrrg!" She blushed deeply and flailed her arms a moment before crossing her arms. "I am sorry, I've had a long day." That had to be it.

Again, she cleared her throat. Way to go Lisa. You looked stupid. God, this was probably why she couldn't ever get a boyfriend. Well that and her father was psychotic. (She loved him anyways). "Well- I had a meeting." Not the full truth but it would do. IN her line of work she had to dance lines or get lashed at when she returned. "It went pretty well, but it sure tired me out." As did any of her 'meetings'. If she didn't do her running exercises daily she would be a lot more tired. It didn't help that it was a bit warm already.

He looked hot. Well no, actually his suit was designed with great insulation against both warmth and cold. It was expensive for a reason. Wait, she seemed very embarrassed all of a sudden. What had he done? Or what had she done? He was missing something.... AHHH! Hot, American slag for sexy or attractive. Now her embarrassment made perfect sense. Though, if she hadn't been so self conscious he would have missed it entirely. It was always difficult getting used to the slag people used. It was hard enough trying to keep up with Japanese slag but two languages at once was a chore. Plus he didn't speak English as much as he would have liked to. So, maybe this was his chance to practice.

"A slip of the tongue is nothing more than fatigue meeting with meeting a new person." Kazuya couldn't help but laugh as she waved her arms about and was completely slackered with herself. he hadn't seen such behavior in a long time. Not ever since watching people flirting and failing in high school. Even then it was nothing this potent. He laughed, On thrown to the side. No need to maintain face when something so humorous presented itself.  The best course of action is to laugh, to enjoy yourself. After all, there would be plenty of time to be serious and gruff.

It seemed as though that Lisa was pulling herself together and trying to answer his question to the best of her ability. he did his best to ignore her previous comments and listen to what she was saying. It was easy enough, pretending things weren't happening was a specialty of the Japanese. It sure tired her out? I wonder what she does... "Well I am not surprised you are tired. You are also wearing a suit. You look hot too." he snorted slightly as he struggled to keep his chuckle inside. He brought his right hand up to his face to try to gather his compose. "I am sorry-" he laughed through his fingers, "It is just so funny."

"I'm so stupid (Ik ben zo dom.)," she cursed silently to herself. Her face couldn't possibly get redder could it? If anymore blood rushed to her head she might have passed out. It was dizzying for some reason. The man teasing her about her word faux pas and the way that she was flailing like an idiot; all of it contributed to her feeling like an utter moron. Everyone got that way though.

"I am a bit." She couldn't help but admit. There was no way to undo the past, so she might as well go with it, right? When you can't beat them, join them. Her own laugh slipped. He had a nice one, despite his trying to hold it back. The Japanese flew easily through his lips and naturally she recognized 'I'm sorry'. That and 'Bye' were probably the only phrases she knew. For a moment she debated on taking a class for it, but that seemed a bit silly. What if they never met again? Well wait- she wanted to go to Japan, anyways.

"It's no problem. I'm sure I look a bit silly." Her hand fidgeted a bit at her skirt. Now SHE couldn't make eye contact. The red in her cheeks was surely bright enough to start a fire. At that moment she wanted nothing more than to change into something cooler, because her suit felt a million degrees hotter. She wasn't upset, clearly, but more-so unsure how to advance past her spazzing.

Now there was a language he didn't hear often. He wasn't positive but sounded a lot like German. Perhaps it was German. The Ich bin part of the phrase was rather characteristic of German and all of the other similar languages. He'd done a few dealings with people from that area but never extensively and they had always just spoke in English anyway. Yet another reason to keep his English practiced. He did like the way her German, or not quite German, sounded. Perhaps he should learn it? He was an incredibly fast learner after all. He should put that intelligence to use with linguistics. Then again, he was already trying to learn a language from his mentor. That was hard enough. Once he mastered the angelic, as Nicodemus called it, before moving on to German.

Kazuya, finally beginning to shake the giggles from himself shook his head at the girl's statement. "You do not look silly at all." he said with the residue of his laughter still present as a smile on his face, "You look official. Better to look like you mean something then to look totally normal." He gestured to his own suit. "My suit is designed to catch people's attention and still be functional and look official." he smiled. "It does it's job. Though, some might think I look silly in it. They are usually those who do not need to look official." Kazuya eyed Lisa, she didn't seem to be a full of her self lobbyist nor some underpaid secretary, what was she? "Does it benefit you to look like an official power in your line of work?" Maybe he could get her to give him more information about what she did. Not that he was exactly interested but he was somewhat obsessed with learning things. Though, she did look a little silly when she flailed her arms about. though, kazuya would try to move past that moment in time, otherwise he'd be laughing all day.

He was probably making fun of her.   Probably.  It was okay, though.  He didn't seem to laugh much, so she at least got that much out of him.  It felt good to make someone laugh, even if it was because she looked silly.  She pulled out a peppermint and unwrapped it.  The sugar was a savory taste that soothed her nerves.  It wasn't quite candy- but it was close enough.  He had a question and she had to debate on how to answer it.  It wasn't complicated, it was more just trying to piece a sentence together.

"Well, it's more a dress code." She smoothed her skirt. "It is required by work to wear something nice.  Though- I don't have to wear a skirt, I choose to wear it, because it is a bit more comfortable."  After a moment, she smiled.  "Your suit is really nice though.  You wear it well. Very professional!"  It was a strange thing to say- as she didn't normally talk to people about clothes.  Then again- she rarely talked to people outside of work.  She was too busy thinking about her sugary delights.

Now here was a conversation that Kazuya didn't mind in the least. It was talk on exactly how nice his suit was. Which, he seriously doubted that she could tell how excellent it was. Yes, it was nice, and yes, he did wear it well. that was of course because if he did not wear it well then he would have fired and black listed the Italian man who made it. He, of course, didn't have to do that though. No, old Raphael was the best tailor Kazuya had ever seen He'd made suits for his father and now he made suits for him. It was that simple. This suit was a masterpiece in it's own right. On a level of craftsmanship that his family sword could match. Hand made suits were the best you could get, as long as they were made of the finest material and by the finest tailors. He did not expect her to recognize this level of finery though, most couldn't. It was not strange for those people he met on the day to day to be philistines when it came to the art of tailoring. The Hattori men had always been well dressed though. From Hanzo to Kazuya they all wore the height of fashion. Nothing else would suffice.

"Dress code." he nodded. "Professional work places tend to have dress codes." Kazuya stopped to think on it. "Actually just bout every organization has some kind of dress code. Right down to street gangs. Simple colors are enough to get you shot if you aren't in the right dress code." it was a rather off topic muse but never-the-less it had slipped out. He figured he might want to bring it back in though. No need to ramble on about dress codes and getting shot because you were foolish enough to be Mexican, wearing blue, and in the wrong neighborhood all at once. "I do not not have a dress code though. I just dress the best I can, all the time." he offered up a smile to the young woman. It was small and somewhat forced but he had better at least try to pretend that he was using American customs. "If you have the ability to, why would you not dress the best you could?" he had actually never understood that. many people dressed like street people when they could at the very least look like respectable middle class folk. He did not understand it now and doubted he ever would.

The man sort of went on about dress codes more than she would care to talk on, but it could have been worse, honestly. Talking about people getting shot, though, was not usually a really good topic for anyone to just meet and speak on. It was strange and odd, but she supposed there had been weirder topics. Either way, he seemed happy to talk about his clothes. She put a little bit conceited in his personality profile in her head, but thought nothing more of it.

"I would, except I'd be nervous to ruin my dresses too often." Her response was quicker than she had even expected. "They aren't cheap, so I can't always afford a new one." That wasn't to say she was poor, not in the least. However, constantly buying clothes was kind of a hindrance from bills at times. "I understand what you mean, though." She laughed internally at the thought of someone going into the CIA office with a pair of slacks and t-shirt. It really just didn't seem right. They needed to appear professional. even if they were at times, incompetent.

Couldn't afford it. Those were not word Kazuya really ever said. It was not abnormal for "normals" to say that though. Perhaps it was because of a severe lack of drive or lack of current skill that they could not afford things. Too bad for them. If they stayed in the 'I can't afford it' mindset they would be stuck there forever though. So many people were stuck on the bottom and could only have the basics. They were lazy and lacked drive, they were however, necessary. There needed to be peons and followers out there. People without connection and who were content to be meaningless in this world. After all, there were samurai and there were peasants. In the end the reason why a peasant stayed a peasant was mindset. After all, many powerful people were not born powerful. Look at Miyamoto Musashi and Tokugawa. They were two people who came from nearly nothing and achieved nearly god hood. The power of man was staggering yet so many disregarded it. Poor creatures with faith in anything but themselves. Oh well, moving on.

Kazuya put his hand underneath his chin. This girl was pleasant enough. She did not seem to be busy and talking to people always expanded your breadth of experience. His black eyes turned up to the colossus just off to to his right. Great men carved in stone. His eyes tracked back to the Lisa and his hand dropped back to his side. "Lisa-san, this may be over stepping my bounds but perhaps would you care to join me for a breakfast meal?" that was how you said it right? Breakfast? Something like that anyway. So many hard sylables in English. "I will take no offense if you refuse. We have only just met and you are likely busy." he looked at his Rolex and checked the time. Just past and he hadn't eaten. He should remedy that. "I am hungry and I am enjoying our conversation. I would be willing to pay and I have transportation." he gestured over to his limousine in the parking lot. Not stretch but a well made town car with a separated front and back seat. It had bullet proof windows and even kevlar plating in the doors. You could not be in a safer civilian car in DC. Though he doubted she knew that just at a glance. if she did then he might have to ask her the source of that knowledge.

For some reason, being called Lisa-san made her blush. She couldn't understand why, but something inside of her giggled like a high-schooler. Jeez- did she completely lack her professionalism? It was shameful of her! She couldn't stop smiling though. It was a lucky thing that her smile wasn't creepy. At least, that's what she'd been told. It was a good attribute to not look creepy when happy- most people who did got 'creeper' slapped on them- OH GOD. What if she looked like one?

He offered breakfast and a ride in a really awesome car. This- This was what dreams were made of. Other women would kill to be in her shoes (or at least that's what she assumed). Her work was done for the morning, so she honestly couldn't think of a reason to say no- even if she HAD wanted to. "No, actually. I think that sounds like a pleasant idea, ya?" There slipped the touch of Dutch into her voice. "I think I'll take up on that offer." She laughed at the strange situation, but wasn't displeased.

This girl really was all smiles and excitement. His invitation seemed to set off some kin dof cheer chain reaction though. More than he was expecting. Maybe she did not realize exactly just how elated she look. With an ear to ear grin and a dusting of blush on her cheeks Kazuya could do nothing but return her smile, though not nearly to the same degree. He found her smile to be rather charming as well. Not like the normal fake smiles he was used to seeing or putting on himself. Much more genuine. More real and honest. It was a new experience, honesty. Honesty was one of the core tenets of Bushido but Kazuya had never put much stock in that philosophy. He found he identified with the Samurai of the Sengoku period more than the passive artists and philosophers of the Tokugawa Era. He felt a connection to the old blood thirsty warrior poets and nobles from the Warring States. Back when war had little philosophy. It was win or be destroyed. That was how he lived his life. Win or be destroyed. He was a born winner too. He'd do whatever it took to win, no matter what.

Kazuya smiled and pointed to his town car. "After you Lisa-san." he said with his usual polite tone. "I do not know about you, but I am very hungry."the business man admitted as he began the short trip down the stairs of the monument that would lead to the parking lot. "I am not overly familiar with the area though." Kazuya looked to the side so that he could keep his companion in his vision as he walked. He did not need to watch exactly where his feet were going, well not unless he was walking through a crowded street. The monument was mostly quiet now though and some stairs did not require his full attention. "Maybe you could suggest a good place to eat?"
