Meetings in Inferis (Closed/Thomas)

A FEW MILES AWAY FROM CHASM

Blood and guts made disgusting squishing sounds as the blade of Yuuko's sword twisted further into the corpse of a demon. Fresh blood coated her sword and hands. Yuuko breathed out heavily as she tugged her katana out of the body, blood splattering every which ways. A bit of the warm blood splashed onto Yuuko's long and shapely legs. The feeling of it dripping down her leg made her shudder and wipe it off after a bit. Demon blood, disgusting. Yet, Yuuko found herself covered in it from head to toe almost everyday. Still, the feeling of blood from a corpse hitting her legs wasn't pleasant.

With a slash of her blade, Yuuko flicked the blood off her prized silver sword. She didn't have any cloth on hand, so this was her only method of getting the majority of the demon blood off of her katana until she reached home. Thankfully, silver didn't rust so it wasn't that big of a deal anyways. She could just soak it in the tub later at her cramped apartment. Heck, Yuuko herself could use a long bath as well. Her feminine and gentle face had large globs of dried blood stuck to it, taking away the alluring effect her complexion usually had. She didn't look like a seventeen year old-girl, she looked like a soldier at the end of a brutal battle. Which she was. Maybe not a soldier in the American army, but Yuuko liked to think of herself as one of the soldiers and protectors of the human race. Yuuko was a Demon Hunter.

Yuuko plopped herself down on a nearby rock and sighed. Sweat coated her forehead and neck. Damn, why was it always so hot in Inferis? Then again, it was hell. Still, Yuuko found it odd that is was always so hot yet the sun never shined. All there was was black clouds and an eerie red sky. No sun shining down and bathing the demons in radiant light. Demons lived in the dim and dark, amongst crumbling ruins. The ruins, those themselves were perplexing enough. Was Inferis just the future? Was it Earth's fate? Or was it some kind of alternate world? Yuuko had asked around, and nobody really seemed to know. They all had their theories, but that was all they were. Theories.

If anybody wanted any straight answers about Inferis, they might have to just go ask Lucifer himself. Of course, nobody had the balls to do that. And if anybody did, they'd never come back alive. Nobody except maybe God himself would be able to defeat Lucifer. One had to wonder why God didn't destroy the fallen angel in the first place. Was it pity? Temporary punishment? Who knows? Yuuko certainly didn't. She wasn't sure if there even really was a God in the first place.

As Yuuko relaxed on the rock, pondering about Inferis and faith, she heard rustling from afar. Quickly, she jumped back on her feet and gripped her sword, ready to fight anything that dare cross her path now. "Who's there? Are you demon, or hunter? Show yourself."
