Abilities: An ancient creature of Chinese lore, the Bai Ze, or "white marsh", was once predicted to have told an Emperor of olde in conversation of the existence of all 11,520 yokai, or evil spirits and monsters. In truth, it is infact the Demon of lucky souls past, and because of its incredibly knowledge, the Bai Ze is treated in many east Asian cultures as a symbol of extremely good luck and a positive omen for the future.

The truth of the matter is somewhat different. Bai Ze are very rare, and to encounter one is often seen as a symbol of good luck, because the Bai Ze only encounters those that it wants to. If it does not want to meet or converse with an individual, it will dissipate into thin, vapour-like smoke, but when it finally does wish to come out in front of a being, human or Demon, it will take the form seen above and converse with them in booming tones, typically in formal languages.

The Bai Ze is a knowledgeable creature that has abilities bordering clairvoyance, and whilst it cannot explicitly tell the future, it can fathom oncoming fluctuations in the destiny and fate of individuals. It will not reveal itself to anyone, but only those of good or noble heart - and as its essence is intangible, it's not known if they are at all destroyable, but it's presumed that once a Bai Ze has achieved its goal, it simply dissipates on the wind.

Very rare, very hard to find, a boon to converse with, highly intelligent, telepathic, a sign of good luck, and able to bring temporary life to whatever its smoky feet come into contact with, if a Bai Ze approaches you, do not ignore it; it most likely has great knowledge to impart to you, be it of the past, present, or tentative future.

- It is not known how many exist, but it is presumed to be less than two dozen in the whole of Inferis.
