DEMON DESCRIPTION:
Abaddon, at least in his current reincarnation, is not at all what one would think of when they think of "The Destroyer" or "Bringer of Plagues". Instead of becoming corrupted into the form of a monster, his constantly reincarnating form has almost preserved his angelic nature. In the King of Locust's unchained form, the demon appears as an albino child, looking no older than fourteen years old. He has a slender body and pale skin, complimented by bright red eyes that seem to ominously glow. When he becomes enraged, the whites of his eyes turn black, giving him a slightly more demonic appearance and revealing his true nature. He has small fangs as well, which are often shown off in a sarcastic grin.
The Destroyer's clothing is also fairly down to Earth and unsuspecting, ranging from simple long sleeved shirts and dark denim jeans. Even though Abaddon appears human, one can never mistake him for such, as he radiates a massive Infernal aura that rivals that of some archdemons. If the buzzing of a million locusts doesn't warn you, this aura can be sensed for at least a half a mile away. Some stupid lesser demons might mistake him for an archdemon, but more than few know better, as the Destroyer is pretty loud about who he is. His voice is harrowing and cold, yet snooty and sarcastic, a perfect reflection of his personality. His fang ridden mouth is often seen in an aloof half grin exposing his demonic fangs in a display of ignorance and pride.
PERSONALITY:
THE ANCIENT CHILD Living for millions of years can get to somebody's head, and that's exactly what happened to the demon known as Abaddon. He is insanely impatient and hates waiting. Waiting for longer than one minute is considered far too long for him and he will often use this to somewhat comically taunt his enemies, counting down the seconds they have to prepare themselves.
The Destroyer is sarcastic and doesn't respect others, including archdemons, often making them the butts of his jokes or otherwise mocking him. This more than often gets him in trouble, but then again, he also doesn't care. The Locust King enjoys childish hobbies such as watching mortal cartoons and eating candy. Where he gets this candy is unknown, but he claims to have an ability to summon it at will. His personal favorite is "chocolate covered scorpions" which is exactly as the name implies.
More than often, despite his childish antics, his default mood will simply be "bored". Inferis really isn't all that exciting, at least not to one who has not only lived for billions of years, but will continue to for billions more. In order to satisfy this boredom, Abaddon must do either of the two things: bother somebody to entertain him or destroy (see The Destroyer). By bother, it really does mean that, as the Lord of Locusts is a persistent little devil. He will do whatever it takes to get your attention, and will quickly try to find out all of the things that just grind your fucking gears and do them over and over and over again. Have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Expect all of your picture frames to be crooked. Don't like a noise? That's now Abaddon's favorite sound. Epilepsy? Well, you get the point.
Abaddon's kind of an asshole.
THE DESTROYER Apollyon was re-purposed for a sole reason even if he had a few mental cracks along the way: to destroy. More specifically, he was made to destroy only for Lucifer, following his own orders. Perhaps his difficult nature was intentional by the Overlord to further reinforce this rule, perhaps it wasn't. He is the devil's right hand and hitman.
When Abaddon is given an order from Satan, he will follow it to the dot and complete it quickly (or slowly if Lucifer wills it) and cause as much destruction along the way as possible. He has no qualms with cutting down an innocent life if they so much as bump into him during his missions. While this seek and destroy demeanor is terrifying as it is, Abaddon is still relatively childish, and actually has a pretty informal relationship with his "boss".
...Unless if you piss him off. The Destroyer's rage is legendary, perhaps second only to the archdemons of wrath and pride themselves. The angel of the abyss will crumble anything in his path during this state will not stop until the particular target is eliminated, knocking down everything in his way to that goal. His voice becomes more demonic when angered, giving it a booming and commanding tone compared to his previously higher pitched notes.
HISTORY:
- Book I:
In the beginning there was no destruction, only creation. Amongst the first of the angels the lord created was Abaddon, created to guard the lake of fire, the bottomless pit. He was born with a naturally judging personality, being far more cynical than most other angels at the time. many of the host avoided him, but the father is all forgiving, and he loved him.
One angel took interest in him from the very beginning, the angel of light: Lucifer. Of all of the heavenly immortals, this one alone choose to humor the angel of the bottomless pit. He began to favor him over Christ, and the seeds of sin were planted. he grew curious, curious of what laid below the pit he was sworn to guard. There had to be more than this life of blinding light and feathers.
When Lucifer called forth his followers, Abaddon was one of the first to respond, not second guessing or fearing the outcome of what was about to happen. As God himself yelled out his final damning commandment as the angels around him wept and fell victim to despair. He did not. The angel of the pit smiled, understanding what was about to happen.
He was finally going to see what was in the Lake of Fire.
And he did. Abaddon was one of the fairly quiet angels during the fall into the bottomless pit, which name was false, as it did have a bottom. And that bottom couldn't come sooner, after years of free falling, the angel was no longer what he once was. His cynical nature turned malicious as he morphed into a damned version of himself. While most of the host was physically twisted into horrendous monsters, it was Abaddon's mind that warped, not his body. His ideals took a one eighty as his brain shattered into a twisted and malicious version of what he once was. Protection? Guarding? Saving the people?
Fuck all of that that.
- Book II:
When Lucifer proclaimed the ten archdemons and named the lands Inferis, he last turned to Abaddon, the former guardian of the damned place. With silent words he proclaimed he had different plans for him, more specific plans, more detailed plans. He was free to roam the hellish lands as any other newly born demon was, which in itself gave the former angel a great deal of excitement. no longer did he have to stay in one place for all eternity, guarding over some blasted pit. No longer did he have to be bored. What a release that was.
He was renamed Abaddon The Destroyer, a fitting name for what Lucifer had assigned for him. He was to act as the Overlord's personal hitman, eliminating any targets he simply didn't need or want around, whenever it be the simple civilian or an entire city. For millennia he has carried out these orders, quickly realizing his new demonic abilities to never truly die, being reborn at the beginning of every year. This strengthened his pride and caused him to grow reckless. He was letting himself become consumed by the very idea of destruction, ultimately becoming the literal embodiment of it.
Satan has called out a lot of "hits" during his everlasting lifespan. Abaddon doesn't really remember the earliest ones in the time before humans where his powers were relatively weak due to the lack of their destructive nature. He spent most of this time fulfilling petty orders such as annihilating lesser demons who got on the Devil's nerves. However, as natural selection took its place and life evolved, the Lord of Locusts grew in strength tremendously. His hits grew larger and his name started to pull more weight, becoming a well known and feared demon in the depths of hell.
Perhaps his most famous reckoning on Earth were the Plagues of Egypt, which is often confused as a holy act of God. Several coincidences did happen to line up and the Father may of actually allowed this to happen because of that, but it was not because of the enslaved Israelites that caused the ten disasters. It was in fact Abaddon in his own accord. It's said that he attempted to possess King Ramses II, who actually had a stronger will and was able to reject the Destroyer from his body. This angered the demon, and he proceeded to curse the king's people with ten deadly plagues. But only his people, and his people alone as Apollyon promised him that it would be as if his civilization never existed. While the Destroyer ultimately failed due to either a mix of holy intervention or simple Egyptian persistence, he still left a deep scar in history, increasing his powers furthermore. He became fairly inactive for a few hundred years after this, returning to basic orders, but his rampages were far from over.
King Xerxes I of Persia. A ruler of a powerful empire and perhaps the largest one at the time. The Achaemenid Empire did in fact breach into Southern Europe and Western Asia, engulfing the entire Middle East in the process. Abaddon, under the guise of the possessed king, led countless armies into battle in excessively bloody battles. Nobody could stop him, not even the Greeks, who arguably put up the most of a fight. Xerxes the Great would have undoubtedly conquered the world if he had infinite resources. But he did not, and his destructive methods of battle were wearing the Persian forces thin, ultimately leading to the mortal shell's untimely assassination in his sleep by one of his own bodyguards.
For a period of time Abaddon stopped possessing warlords, instead moving on to smaller figures, such as Marcus Junius Brutus which eventually led to the death of one Julius Caeser. In Inferis, his conquests further added weight to his name. Brutus wasn't all the fun he had in the Roman Empire. The demon also counseled Emperor Nero (though he never once possessed him) who was an avid Ritualist at the time. The Destroyer also claims to have instigated the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, burying the city of Pompeii, but this is unconfirmed.
Abaddon went on to possess the Chinese warlord Lu Bu, going on a rampage not too different from his reign as Xerxes I. Though the demon's personality had become far more unstable at this point, causing the warlord to constantly betray his allies and form strange alliances. His battles were poorly planned but overwhelming and he himself was nearly unmatched in combat. Unfortunately, Lu Bu was also put to death by a form kinsman and master, bond in rope and about to be executed, he asked but one question: "Can you loosen the bonds? They're too tight."
In recent times, Abaddon has returned to a relatively at ease state, carrying out simple orders once more. He has actually grown relatively lazy in terms of possessions, not having done so in at least five hundred years. Instead, he spends his time messing around or carrying out the Devil's personal disposal orders. His mentality has further broken down as his time in Inferis continues, making him seem a lot more harmless than when he was feared throughout all ten spheres of hell.
Perhaps this fear should be re-instilled.

FACTION:
Lucifer and Lucifer alone.
SKILLS:
> [ SKILLED FIGHTER ] Possessing many warlords who often fought on the frontlines with their armies, Abaddon has picked up a number of different hand to hand and weapons skills over time. He is not to be underestimated in these situations, even if he does prefer to use his abilities.
> [ RELENTLESS ] In addition to his demonic ability to revive itself, he also has the basic skill to heal minor wounds in a relatively short amount of time compared to mortals, but is unable to regenerate lost limbs or any such wounds until his revival. However, he will basically fight until he is unable to, regardless of how much damage he sustains.
> [ MINOR REGENERATION ] If Abaddon gets scratched or cut up, he'll at a faster pace than mortals but at an oddly slower rate than most demons. A cut or a scratch will be completely healed by the end of the day, but he cannot regrow any lost limbs unless if he reattaches them. In fact, the Destroyer's low healing factor may be attributed to his destructive nature.
> [ VOICE OF THE DAMNED ] Abaddon carries the simple ability to make his voice far more intimidating than it naturally is, able to lower it to levels in the D Major range. He often uses this to get attention and to intimidate enemies.
> [ WINGS OF PLAGUE ] Apollyon has the ability to conjure a swarm of tiny locusts which will then attach themselves to his back and act as a pair what seems to be feathery black wings. As they are intimidating, they are also functional, granting him the ability to fly, making traveling through Inferis much easier.
WEAKNESSES:
> [ LIGHT ] While this isn't usually an issue for Abaddon as such blinding light is pretty much absence in the lands of Inferis and he isn't hindered by it while in a mortal shell, it can still prove to be problematic. The Destroyer can't stand bright lights, and neither can his endless swarm of insects, who will disperse and scatter at the sight of it.
> [ RESPAWN TIME ] Regardless of when he's killed, Abaddon must still wait until the first day of the next year to be resurrected. This can some what be annoying in the event he is killed relatively early in his timeline. Abaddon has become more careful with this, but he still acts fairly reckless, years being only days or minutes to the older demons.
> [ BLOODLUST ] When Abaddon goes on a rampage, it's not that he doesn't want to stop (Well, he probably doesn't want to as well) it's that he simply cannot stop. Once he begins a path of destruction, he cannot stop until he is out of energy for the day. This can be a devastating fact, but also a counterproductive one, as he doesn't really discriminate what it is he destroys.
> [ FIRE ] While he himself is not particularly weak to it, many of his abilities revolve around insects, which are exceptionally vulnerable to fire. This can disrupt many but not all of his abilities, being only a minor weakness.
COLOURS:
Abaddon speaks primarily Demonic (desirered) but is able to speak a number of different languages including: Chinese (royalyellow), Greek (emerald), Persian, Egyptian (egyptianblue), Latin (pinegreen), and of course boring old English (white). He also reconignzes the Angelic language when it's spoken, but has lost the ability himself through eons of not speaking it.
TRIVIA/MISADVENTURES:
> He is directly responsible for releasing the plans to the atomic bomb to the mortals.
> Abaddon was for a very brief time part of Legion, who absorbed him with his biokinetic powers. This caused the archdemon several errors and he had to be rejected. Legion afterwards ripped him limb from limb with his shadowy tentacles.
> He once called Asmodeus a whore, then immediatly begged her to bed with him. This ended poorly for the Destroyer, who was beheaded after the deed was done.
> Once called out Moloch, claiming that the ice age was a rather "lame" way to go on a rampage and he could do way better. He couldn't.
> Frequently pees in the Black Sea.
> Has warred with Belial many times throughout history through possessed individuals, just to cause him problems.
> Has been incinerated by Beelzebub more than one time.
> Often places Belphegor's hand in water while he sleeps.
> Frequently steals from Ba'al.
> Also from Mammon.
> Ironic to his childish appearence, Abaddon loves fine cigars and can often be seen smoking one.
> Abaddon claims to have possessed Deuce Bigalow and to have destroyed a vast amount of pussy during this.

APPROVED
Y'know, between all the Archdemons and Abaddon, I think we account for every negative and/or violent event humanity has ever been involved in. And people say humans suck...
Demons are wankers.
