DESCRIPTION:
Poe was once described as a living cane, this coming from a comparison elaborated by one of his friends. That person was, to be honest, not completely wrong. Arthur Severus Poe is a man of about 195cm in height, with short brown hair and a borderline weight. His walking pace is firm and precise and, as his shoes touch the ground he's walking on, they mimic the sound of a cane hitting the ground.

As a descendant of a Victorian family, Poe has been raised in such manners, which is clearly visible through his clothing style. He is most commonly dressed in black, wearing a perfectly fitting suit and a long seasonal coat or wind jacket. On the top of his head, usually hiding his perfectly tidy hair, is a cylinder hat he received from one of his grandfathers.

His face seems cold and distant, giving off a smile on such seldom occasions that only a few of his acquaintances have been able to witness that moment. Still, he has that certain charm, a combination of charm and maturity. Such a visage was often regarded as an attraction point for the female sex. On the other hand, in complete contrast with his pale and cold face, are his big, blue eyes, which do contain that does of childish earnestness that is often observed through them, but never completely understood.

When in Inferis, his style doesn't show such a vast alteration as it might be expected. Without his hat, his clothes and visage only give out a more bohemian look. His hair becomes wilder, his clothing less formal which allows for quicker movement and better reflexes while in combat.


PERSONALITY:
In harmony with his external form, his character is very unpleasant and hard to cope with. He is an introvert, embodying, perhaps, the exact definition of the word. He lives in a world of his own, a world governed by facts, books and knowledge. He has no need for social contact (or it is irrelevant) and his need for external affirmation is non-existent.

He does have a small group of people he keeps in touch with, but those are intellectuals, people much older than him and possessing that level of wisdom he wishes to acquire. Their meetings are usually held just a couple of times a month and mostly in closed places, such as apartments or houses in the Victorian parts of his hometown.

You could say his view on the world is pessimistic, but he would never use that same term to describe him. He does not see any good in the world. Observing it, he only notices traits that could be considered incarnations of the Seven Deadly Sins. His philosophical viewpoint is based on atheistic existentialism and can be described as realist humanism, etching to discover what is good in humanity, searching for Good and Hope as the only true virtues possible of saving humanity.

Around other people, he is generally quiet. Sitting in a corner with his drink, observing the social fluctuations in front of him. He is rarely impressed and tends to, in compliance with that, keep out of discussions or exchanges of opinion. He finds most people inferior and is prone to restraining himself for a higher cause and his own personal peace (‘It is, I must say, quite easier to keep quiet and observe the rambling idiots hoping to achieve a point, than to participate and then have a somewhat moral obligation to continue participating’).

His relationship with the female sex is a very particular point in his character. Although he has had many lovers, he considers himself to be asexual, which is an obvious contradiction. He has a more deeper, philosophical, explanation for his stance but likes to keep it for himself as a last resort, a pure rationalisation. He was never impressed with a woman, finding none that could satisfy his intellectual standards. He was never able to find a peer of his, someone he would call The Woman which is why he usually seems very distant when in female company, prone to, what some would call, misogyny.


HISTORY:
He was born in London on September 3, 1992. His father, Gregory A. Poe, a college professor was giving a lecture on the Second World War when he received a call from St Bartholomew's Hospital. His wife, Alexandra, had been taken in because of severe labours. Dismissing his lecture, the father rushed to St Bart’s in order to witness the birth of his first child. He came a few moments late as his wife had already been holding their baby boy, named Arthur Severus, in her hands. It was a healthy boy and the birth passed without any problems.

From his early childhood, he had been raised as a Victorian child. He received an excellent education that endorsed logical thinking and creative imagination. He had been given books from different authors, titles that are considered classics, enabling him to research worlds that he could not experience during his lifetime. His thoughts and ideas formed, influenced by literature. He was also educated in art history, having the opportunity to travel to different countries in order to experience art in full. His musical education was marked by piano and violin lessons.

His academic career lasted shorter than the one of his peers as Arthur had finished his education years before his comrades. His superior intellect and excellent memory enabled him to stroll through academic facilities, majoring in criminal law and procedure. Upon turning twenty, he had, as a gift, received an apartment in London’s Baker Street where he is currently residing and where his office is situated.

His skills and powers started manifesting themselves at the age of 14. At first, it was a shock to both him and his family, but soon enough, they managed to cope with the fact that he was able to move objects without touching them. They consulted people, as stories of such people had been omnipresent in London’s history and as a result, Arthur soon received a mentor, James Watson, a deceased Demon Hunter who taught Arthur how to control and use his powers. Also, he was trained in martial arts and fencing, which is a reason why he keeps blade with him during work. He also owns an antique revolver, inheritance from his grandfather, which he keeps in his apartment, tightly locked.

Very nicely done, Arthur. Just a few pernickety issues:

1] I'm not sure if it is - but your avatar must be a picture of your character, and the anime version. To me, that does just look like a standard picture of Ben Cumberbatch as Sherlock.

2] Your signature must include your languages and the colours in which they're spoken. Don't know if you've edited it, but probably best you get round to that.

3] Finally - Sept 1992 would make Arthur 19 at time of writing - this RP's current date is January 2012. You can change his DOB or his age - up to you - but just ensure you correct it.
