PERSONAL DETAILS

DESCRIPTION:
Veronika is a fairly pretty woman, most would agree. Her facial features are soft and appealing, and she has a curvaceous and mature body to match it. Her eyes are also interesting to look at, since they are a yellowish color. Veronika's choice of hairstyle is what's truly unique about her though. In the front, the two longest strands of hair on her head are braided together. The braid stops down at her solar plexis. The rest of her hair is kept short and spiky though. Some may argue that it's a safety hazard with her kind of work, but Veronika honestly doesn't care and will continue to style her hair this way for as long as she pleases.

Around her arms, it is easy to see that she has matching tattoos of a black snake. While some might think that her tattoos have some sort of deeper meaning, they're really just there because Veronika likes snakes. She has a slight fascination with them, and actually has a pet snake herself. A black mamba to be exact. If you ask her where she got it, she'll tell you that she acquired it during her travels. (In reality though, she purchased the snake from the black market. Veronika wouldn't step a foot in Africa. Too hot for her!)

Veronika's choice of dress is pretty fun to look at too at times. In the human world, she'll almost always wear a simple black dress under her lab coat (which she wears constantly) with some black high heels. Why waste brain space on something as simple as clothing anyways? She'll change it up rarely. The only time most people see her in a different form of dress is at fancy parties and such. In Inferis, the black stays but the dress goes. Instead, she wears a black sleeveless jumpsuit, with a hood on the back that she normally utilizes and puts on her head. On the rear end of the outfit, is a long black tail. Oddly enough, it appears to be functional.

PERSONALITY:
Veronika is a character that is difficult to read. She treats everyone very differently, so you can't just ask around to see what she's like. When you're the leader of a cult, it's good to keep everyone guessing. It keeps them all on their toes, just how Veronika likes it. She needs her underlings to be on their toes, to always know that it's never okay to feel at ease when danger or a threat to their organization is always lurking around the corner. Some might say she's kind and understanding one day, and then you see them on a different week and they call her a "cold beast with a lack of empathy".

The real Veronika is just a woman with a lot of curiosity, and a hunger for knowledge of the unknown. A hunger that is so great, that she's not afraid to do anything to get it. Morals? They're meaningless in the pursuit of knowledge. Veronika thinks that they'll only hold her back from her goals. So when she created Green Sun, all those morals were pushed aside and thrown into the trash. And she advises anyone in her ranks to do so as well. She can't have any hindrances in their work, just because someone feels a little guilty or scared of the consequences. Even the Neophytes can't be afraid- no especially the Neophytes. Frightened and unwilling Neophytes are no good. Any that show the least bit of reluctance to perform their job are swiftly done away with. Any that show signs of possible betrayal.. they're done away with a lot slower.



DEMON PERSONALITY:
All that comes from Nidhogg's mouth is wisdom for his Ritualist partner. He believes that any snarky side comments or unnecessary advice could get in the way of their work, so he mostly keeps to himself. And while he doesn't have much to say a lot of the time, he is always there when Veronika needs a bit of help. He knows Inferis better than she does, after all. In private moments of the day when Veronika has retired to her quarters, he might be willing to strike up a conversation with her. But the time they'll talk the most is during the day, when they're working. Say Veronika is about to make a slip-up. He will quickly correct her, in order to avoid as many mistakes as possible. While being very dedicated towards his and Veronika's work, he is an incredibly manipulative character. All throughout Veronika's adolescent life he manipulated her. He turned her away from friends and family, and instead convinced her her primary focus is studying and their work. He shaped her into the woman she is today. Nowadays he can't order her around so much, not that he needs to. Veronika is a very independent woman who knows what she's doing now, and no longer needs to have Nidhogg steer her in the "right" direction. Still, that doesn't stop him from making a few important decisions for her every now and then.

HISTORY:
As a young child, Veronika had her father wrapped around her little finger. Everywhere he went, she went. The man was hardly seen without the girl after she was born. Veronika's father even brought her to work with him, which may have not been the safest thing to do due to the fact that he was a Psychiatrist in an Insane Asylum. But Veronika had always insisted upon going with him, since she didn't like being around her strict mother much at all. But it was at this asylum, that the stage was set for her TRUE destiny. Her childlike curiosity would lead her into something bigger, oh so much bigger than the world she knew.

Veronika can remember that day just like it was yesterday. It was a rather dry and cold morning, and she and her father had just strode inside quickly to escape from the bitter cold. Veronika was twelve, and quite the independent girl now. Still, she enjoyed accompanying her father to work at times. Not as much as she used to when she was a child, because studies kept her busy, but she tried to as much as she could. Her father was beginning to make his rounds around the asylum, when a patient began to act like he was in distress. Her father had to rush off all of a sudden to care for him, leaving young Veronika to her own devices for awhile.

Now alone, Veronika started to wander the halls. She had a mental map of the entire place by now, so there was no worry over Veronika getting lost. She figured she'd just walk around until her father was done helping the patient calm down. As she wandered along, Veronika noticed there were stains on the ground. Curiosity getting the best of her, she bent down to examine the stains; only to realize it wasn't a stain at all. Rather, a trail of little blood puddles. The trail led all the way into the old library, which was hardly used since the majority of the patients were too violent to be allowed outside of their rooms to roam free. Advancing forward, Veronika decided to follow the trail. Treading lightly inside the dimly lit room, she noticed that the blood puddles grew in size the farther she went. Veronika never walked all the way to the end of the trail though. She had stopped short once she saw what was at the end. The dead and mangled body of a nurse, laying in the center of a demonic symbol written in blood.

Someone was looming over it, a man wearing the clothes of a patient. He was breathing heavily and uttering nonsense under his breath. He seemed so engrossed in his "project" that he hadn't even noticed Veronika enter. He kept muttering to himself though, which Veronika found slightly disturbing but not all that surprising. Patients there did that often. What did surprise her though, was when he suddenly snapped his head back and tensed up. He let out a choked cry, before falling over and beginning to shake pretty violently. A seizure perhaps? Veronika did nothing to assist the man. She could care less about what happened to any of the people in the asylum.

The shaking had only lasted about thirty seconds, before the man became still and blood poured out of his mouth like a water fall. His body became stiff and unmoving. He was dead. Veronika quietly approached the circle, staring at both dead bodies before pulling out the notepad she always carried on her person. She quickly copied the circle line for line, before stuffing the notepad back into her pocket and walking off. Someone would find them eventually.

The day after that, Veronika went with her father again. He had been reluctant to bring her with after what happened yesterday, but daddy's little girl had insisted. He just couldn't refuse her. "I want to explore today, Daddy," was what she had told him before skipping away from him. And she wasn't really lying, she was exploring. Exploring the dead patient's room. They hadn't cleaned it out yet, since taking care of the mess and mourning for the nurse had been strenuous enough for that day. Veronika was able to walk right in, since his room was left open. She did a quick sweep of the room, looking for anything and everything she could to know more about what the man did. She collected a notebook and a few books, hiding them in her backpack before quickly escaping.

These books were the tools that would lead her to ritualism. After spending months researching and studying, Veronika decided she would try the ritual the man had performed. But, differently. Instead of using a human sacrifice to summon a higher demon, Veronika was shooting for a lesser demon. Her brother's pet snake would do perfectly fine. So, she slaughtered the thing and used it and it's blood for the sacrifice. Veronika does not recall much after performing the ritual. All she could remember was a lot of pain, then darkness. She was still a child, after all.

But after the ritual, Veronika was ready to take the world by storm. Her new demon, he whispered knowledge into her head. Knowledge that she could not gain in the human world. He laid out the path for her, and Veronika followed it. She learned more and more. studying Inferis and studying it's secrets. There was so much potential. The demon, Nidhogg, saw this in the young Veronika. He wanted to see what would happen if he led a young and promising human down this path. It started out as a simple experiment he did because he was bored, but now it had become much much more than that.

After turning twenty four, things really took a turn for the better for Veronika. Recently, her work had her stumped. She needed fundings, she needed more people, and she needed equipment. But Veronika was not a wealthy woman. What was she to do? Just when she thought her experiments had hit a dead end, an anonymous man clad in a black suit proposed an offer. He informed her about the group "Green Sun" that had been dissolved by the Templars. Their goals were very similar to Veronika's own, which definitely piqued her interest. And- this generous man had offered to completely fund the project, so long as they got results. And with Veronika.. well results were just a given.

Now Veronika has her own staff, her own lab, and just everything she could hope for. The reformed Green Sun is new and approved, and plowing down a pathway that soon not even the Templars could hope to stop.
