BASIC DETAILS
- Spoiler:
NAME:
Divus
ALIASES:
'Rakshasa'; A pseudonym often used to separate himself from his deceased identity. It's origin lies in eastern mysticism, sharing the name of a cruel monster who devoured demons rather than men.
'Cockroach'; A derogatory monicker known only to those who knew Divus prior to his revival (most of which assume him to be dead, or have forgotten him). Once called this for his frustrating survivability. He utterly despises this insult and has not heard it's sting in many years
AGE:
7,000,000,000 years old.
APPARENT GENDER:
Male; possesses the capability to sexually reproduce as well, thus it could be said that Divus is 'truly' male.
HOMESPHERE:
None.
PICTURE: DEMON:

PERSONAL DETAILS
DEMON DESCRIPTION:
Much of the fallen lose themselves unto the darkness they are submerged in, but there are those who have not lost their image. Some rare few among the Hellish kin are like Divus in that they retain the vast majority of their former appearance. Divus appears both graceful and gorgeous, his every feature carved by the Creator with fine care and soft beauty. He is masculine and youthfully so; seemingly clean shaven with skin free of blemish, though he has no need of razors and the like to maintain this appearance. His pigment is reminiscent of porcelain with an unnatural texture to it, giving Divus a statuesque quality of smooth yet hard skin. If he were to remain very still he just might be mistaken for a masterfully crafted sculpture...
Like the tint of the radiant nocturnal sphere of night's chilled sky, Divus's hair is white as moonlight. It resembles a pale silver in it's tone with a delightfully healthy form and flows wonderfully about his features, some framing his face while the rest seems to have the mercy of gravity, raising towards the back of his head by ephemeral grace. The look is both unique and pleasing, giving Divus a distinct appearance if his beauty alone did not burn his image into one's memory. Apart from his lovely, handsome visage, this particularly pure demon seems to radiate a wholly unusual charisma vastly different from the rest of his kind. He's attractive; his presence soothes, his motions gentle, and were it not for his lack of wings you'd assume this child of God had never fallen.
But, Divus isn't entirely without change, having weathered many years in the Darkness. His hair was once blonde, his skin not so ceramic-like. It is as if he were a flower which chose petrification over wilting and decay, retaining it's image but losing it's color and softness. His eyes are a somewhat radiant lavender-grey tone which exude a deep and ambitious wisdom. There is something good and disarming within their light stare, yet it is framed by a devious shadow, and when further beneath his impulses the darkness around his eyes becomes bold and deep like an oppressive dark smear not unlike eyeshadow.
Divus's lips, too, are also unusual; they are soft and moist, unlike the rest of his form, and are a perfect pitch black. Their inky onyx tone is somehow inviting and pleasing, and they're not large yet wonderfully shaped, with a size best suited for the act of kissing. They inspire lust; a purpose they did not serve once, yet have been bent into now. Unlike many other Demons Divus has not erased the scars from whence his wings were torn either, still bearing the jagged marks upon his flesh, perhaps the only flaw on this otherwise regal and elegant male specimen.
The white demon's body is wonderfully shapen. The muscles are defined, healthy, firm, and robust; they protrude in perfect proportion and balance. His finely shaped abdominal muscles seem to draw the eyes downward lower, into a domain of sin and with the intent to fornicate, before one often realizes the hints of seduction swaying their gaze and pries away their wanting stare. Though well built, almost buff even, Divus's muscles are smoothly formed and gracefully seem to flow into one another. This makes him seem a bit smaller than he is in physique, though in truth it is because his form is very easy on the eyes, neither jarring nor boisterous in it's visual appearance. He stands at a height of six feet three inches.
Apart from these features already described, there is just one more anomaly to Divus; four of his teeth possess a rather deviant shape. The canines are long and fang-like, and the teeth behind them are just fatter and thicker variants of the fore-fangs, slightly shorter but with two serrated points on their blade-like edges. His bite seems intended to draw profuse bleeding, mixing danger with the lusty appeal of his midnight black lips...
MORTAL DESCRIPTION:
Unfortunately, Divus's body was nearly destroyed long ago and he already has lingering difficulties in holding it together. To avoid stressing his limits any further, he avoids assuming mortal forms, hesitant for the fear that it might upset the delicate balance within his still regenerating body. (I made his demon description longer to compensate for the lack of length in this section, as it's hard to write 100 words about a form which doesn't exist. My apologies.)
PERSONALITY:
There's a reason Divus is in Inferis, though there is also a reason he retains so much purity in his appearance. The better part of Divus might be described as righteous, as odd as that may sound; he despises his own kin for how little meaning they hold in their own lives, feeling they have lost themselves to the violence of their impulses. Most demons hate humans for a myriad of reasons, though Divus does not actually hate them at all. He has a different source of hatred. His very own kind... Divus bears an insatiable, murderous hatred towards all other Demons which drives him to hunt and devour others of the Hellish kin, hence his alias 'Rakshasa'.
But he is unnecessarily cruel and vengeful though perhaps his wrath serves a good cause. When faced with a truly depraved being, Divus's anger really consumes his judgement, often leading him to act rashly in the heat of the moment. This is an impulse he is aware of and actively restrains to avoid the loss of his judgement... yet the vast majority of Demons rarely move him to a second doubt, and he often never considers mercy for his very own brethren. To make it simple Divus hates his own kind for their evil, meaninglessly bitter nature and for the fact that they are doomed to achieve nothing but mischief.
It might be said that Divus is pure, but he really isn't. More accurately he has clung so tightly to his former state of being that he imitates it - but like his appearance, it has lost it's color and softness, appearing only as a rigid and statue like avatar of it's former self. Divus, for example, has a very hard time grasping the value of human existence. He doesn't remember the moment of their creation, or their importance to his own creator; he has but a shred of this memory which confuses him. In the haze of his lost memory he may often show qualities such as mercy and compassion unto them, perhaps rescuing wayward mortals in Inferis, but in the end he does not actually care about them nor does he feel what he attempts to emulate. He simply imitates the remaining vestiges of his former self that he can remember.
Divus's hatred for demons stems from a memory he has forgotten. Betrayal, broken ties, the loss of innocence... it's just a cloud of hazy truths and feelings in his mind he can't quite piece together into a clear recollection. Having nearly died and then re-assembled his own body with the power he had left afterwards, there was naturally a fracture in his own consciousness which has recovered very slowly at best. He isn't fully healed, physically or mentally, though his emotional state has not changed. It is merely confused now by the loss of memories it once held tightly in it's grasp; the feeling of memories are present, but their recollection is shattered, leaving the mind in a desperate and disturbed state if it ponders these fissures for too long.
Few things are clear to Divus, but there's one unique thing to this Demon which is neither an imitation nor deviation from his former self. He desires to procreate; as an angel, he had the rare gift of fertility, perhaps as a precursor to the gift his creator later bestowed unto the earthly creations. The purpose is unknown to Divus but he is quite lusty because of it. Rarely he'll make an exception for another demon he wishes to breed with, impregnating fertile partners rather than slaying them, and he does have a considerably sexual nature that does work well with his good looks. Divus isn't much for talking dirty, but he has his own methods of seduction, and the lovers he's taken are filled with nostalgia for the place they lost when embraced by his nearly angelic form.
HISTORY:
An angel's rebellion changed everything for Divus. Though he did not side originally with that Archangel, a lesser angel beneath the future Lucifer tempted him into wrath, and he committed a sin by striking down his foe with wrongful cruelty. His heart had been in the wrong place at that moment - and so, Divus was banished.
He was not an Archangel himself, but Divus did hold a respectable place among his peers prior to his own sin. He lost much - Cast unto Inferis Divus was forced to dwell with Demonkind... he hated them before, he hated them then, and he would continue to hate them throughout the future too. But for a time there was coexistence; the Archdemons as they would later be called first kept some order. Lucifer's army was not shattered entirely even in defeat, and maintained their ties. The lack of need for conflict kept Divus peaceful for a time; though inevitably, clash and conflict appeared amidst Demonkind.
As time passed the fallen angels discovered they had new powers. Some were blessings, others bearing curses in exchange for their power, and the first disputes were just territorial bickering. They later spewed into all out war as the most ambitious of demonkind sought to claim dominance over their fellows, all of which would later bend their knees to Lucifer - all but Divus. There had been two and a half billion years of coexistence, but Divus could handle no more of this farce. He could see no meaning left in the empty souls of Demons... their bodies became twisted, his own staying true to it's previous state, perhaps reflecting the strength of their wills for those who resisted the change.
Divus lacked the influence Lucifer had possessed, and did not attempt to sway other demons to join his cause in fighting the empire that was appearing in Inferis. He did not even truly start a rebellion - he was just one demon who went rogue. In a righteous frenzy, Divus began slaying other demons and taking their soul essence from them to add to his own, accumulating power through acts of cannibalism the likes of which demons had not yet seen. He fought not for dominance or politics, but for something that reminded those he killed of... justice. A rare few demons did not resist, feeling a familiar and nostalgic presence in Divus that reminded them of where they'd come from.
He wanted redemption. But he also wanted vengeance, and perhaps fighting his own sinful kin was a meager means of atonement, but all the same it made him feel alive. For this brief period in time within his life, which did not even amount to a year, Divus finally had purpose... and the more he kindled that flame of remorse and lingering righteousness, the more will he had to fought. He was not without injury or scar, but in time, his relentless will and desperate pursuit drove him to increase his power above most demons. Months passed, and over a thousand demons fell at his hand. He was simply called 'Kinslayer' then.
One day, though, Divus met the end of easy prey. He had gradually hunted stronger demons until he killed his first elite - one whom had happened to be the valued attendant of a mighty Archdemon. He gained too much attention and soon was face to face with one of Lucifer's nine lieutenants... in a brief battle, Divus fought valiantly, yet hopelessly against a stronger foe before being torn unto oblivion by a tremendously powerful attack that stunned Divus with it's sheer scale and force moments before it seemingly erased all traces of his body.
... Yet, his soul essence was nowhere to be found.
What followed afterwards was a time of chaos for Divus. Having once possessed remarkable regenerative qualities, to the point of perhaps having the most advanced self-healing of all time, Divus did not actually die. His remains were scattered to the winds as chunks and pieces, finding themselves amidst the sands of a wasteland. His body used much of his soul essence in the years which followed to slowly sustain and repair itself, his lingering consciousness bound to his lost remains... it took many, many years of resting in an unwanted corner of inferis as what seemed to be little more than a pile of dead flesh, but Divus returned to life.
One does not reconstruct themselves from pitiful remains without consequence. In the beginning, Divus was awash with panic and pain, suffering internal imperfections in his body as he slowly overcame the lingering curse of the Archdemon's overwhelming assault. His consciousness was bent and twisted, struggling to maintain itself as a constant unraveling of itself threatened to tear it apart, the only defense of which Divus had was the unwavering will that had driven him before. But there were no longer any memories attached to that feeling. His mind could not recall memories that were still driving it, feelings without purpose or reason, and for a time he could scarcely remember his own name. Yet, time heals all wounds.
So much time passed. Divus hid far away from the society of inferis for long, long periods of time, breaking away only to devour familiars and lesser demons both to satiate his greater need for soul essence and out of vague recollection of hunting demons before. Memories returned with the stability of his body, but he had lost his pigment and eye tone, and his skin now had the texture of porcelain. He'd changed; without clear sight of his former self, he began to resembled the confounding haze of darkness he had lost to. But it was not a complete defeat. Divus retained much, and a great deal returned to him... but it took billions of years, and he lacked the power he had prior to facing the Archdemon which defeated him. Demonkind had forgotten Divus as little more than a faceless corpse foolish enough to have crossed blades with one of it's great masters.
Eventually, Divus became 'well'. His recovery was accelerating, and the Archdemon's power merely lingered in his wounds. He no longer hid in one place, but many, as he roamed from sphere to sphere to pick off what demons he was still capable of defeating. Which was, to say, not many. He had almost perished and retained but a pitiful fragment of his former abilities, and what he retained was now corrupted, and dark in nature. Worst of all, he couldn't even clearly remember what he had lost... it was just another painful fracture in his memory, one he had feelings of recollection of, but stinging emptiness as his shattered consciousness failed to produce the still fragmented remembrance. The smallest specks were present, all of which were painful to recall, like squeezing a shard of glass so tightly in one's hand that it cut the palm of it's very own holder.
Billions, millions, thousands, hundreds, dozens... the years were a blur for Divus. For times he would hide himself, enter dormancy, and make leaps in recovery. Other times he would enter stages of thirst and desperation, where a need to consume soul essence devoured his peace of mind, and he cannibalized his fellow demons to satiate himself and return to a state of recovery and balance. And eventually Divus remembered this history you are reading - there were blurs, imperfections, but he persevered. Armed with ruins of himself, he took the very first brick of what had been destroyed and truly began reconstruction by recalling his name just a thousand years ago, before beginning to hunt demonkind actively once more. Though he lacked his previous strength and much of his memory, he did all he could, taking on whatever demon he knew he could slay for soul essence and vanish after consuming. Remembering a duel with an Archdemon who was now faceless in his memory, Divus was not so open in his methods, living a miserable life of hiding and killing on the fringe of the demonic mockery of society.
A familiar feeling of unrelenting will gradually returns to him to this day, inspiring his efforts as he lives now by the alias of 'Rakshasa'.

FACTION:
Divus has no ties with anyone; he lives in opposition to his own kind, and slays his fellow demons in pursuit of redemption and righteousness.
SKILLS:
xX - Dark Blood: All of Divus's natural abilities flow from the inside out, with a rather introvert-like theme. But it takes a grotesque turn with this particular manifestation. Divus's blood is pitch black and thick, releasing an occlusive black fog when exposed to open air. His power is invariably intertwined with his blood and a little over half of all apparatuses he gains will rely on his blood either as a medium or a catalyst for it's usage. Divus's body also contains nearly ten times the amount of blood that would be commonplace for his size, and rapidly replenishes it's supply, making death by exsanguination (bleeding to death) highly unlikely for this Demon. His apparatuses which manipulate his own blood into forms for combat will depend heavily upon this natural trait. It should also be noted that Divus absorbs Soul Essence through his blood, enabling him to pull it in through wounds and lesions. He has a much higher capacity for it than most Demons because of this method, which enables him to store a large quantity of it in his blood and flesh, but he also has a higher demand for the essence to match his surplus of it.
xX - Pure Incubus: Were Demons to be separated into a variety of roles and species, Divus would probably be considered a demon of lust despite his tendency for righteous wrath. He is remarkably attractive and has a sexual nature, but also possesses powers of seduction and the ability to drain living beings of Soul Essence while in the act of mating, both of which he is unaware of. Though neither have yet been harnessed into apparatuses his naturally seductive aura will generally give most others he meets the desire to fornicate with him. But the purity he retains also makes the appeal different, less about corruption and raw lust than it is about sheer passion. His charisma and rather sharp wit also helps in seduction, as his deviousness aids in coercing others to lay with him.
xX - Decrepit Regeneration: Once known as an Angel of healing and resurrection, Divus has unfortunately lost much of his self-healing throughout the many years, particularly after his defeat at the hands of an Archdemon. His last impressive act of regeneration was after that very same defeat - but surviving cost Divus almost all of his former power. His cell regrowth thus has plummeted compared to it's past heights; he will still recover from minor scrapes in one minute and shallow cuts within two minutes, seemingly regenerating just fine on this scale. But once the damage goes beyond this level it no longer heals swiftly... a moderate wound such as a large gash or significant bone fracture would take a full day to totally heal, though the bleeding would end after just three minutes. Some of the shallow tissues may regenerate around the injury, minimizing scarring and circulatory damage, but any recovery beyond that takes a full twenty four hours to complete. Worse yet, major damage would go about in a similar manner, but take a full week to recover from with regeneration. This does not apply to organs and limbs however; but re-attachment of organs and limbs is still possible, and takes three minutes to complete, though these body parts would need to be mostly intact and would still have moderate internal damage from the loss of circulation. A body part that has been severed from Divus for more than six minutes cannot be re-attached.
xX - Heightened Awareness: As an Angel, Divus had the gift of enlightenment, and one of his domains was the higher state of mind. Much of this was lost during his fall and later after almost dying, but Divus does have a lingering 'sixth sense' of sorts. He can feel it when others look at him, and can sense the presence of others within ten feet of himself, though the range is so meager this is unlikely to be very useful in practical combat. But despite it's lack of use at a distance this quality has saved Divus more than once, and as his awareness of this forgotten gift returns to him, it's potency gradually heightens. Perhaps it could be directly harnessed into an apparatus later, but for the time being it's usage is somewhat limited. On a purely academic note entering a state of higher consciousness also exponentially increases Divus's intelligence and mental qualities, though he has yet to re-achieve the ability to enter such a state.
WEAKNESSES:
xX - Feigned Fortitude: Divus's skin is actually the hardest part of his body, bearing the strength of a mildly hard stone, not quite as fragile as the porcelain it has the color and texture of. It is weak against blunt impacts however, as impacts of sufficient strength will crack and shatter it's surface, causing him to bleed profusely. Past injury has left his body much weaker than it once was... Divus has amazing recovery abilities, which are sadly grounded quite harshly by his lack of defense. His stone-like skin is also cut just as easily as regular skin, because it is undeveloped. His regeneration might otherwise make him quite formidable were he not so prone to injury.
xX - Extreme Cold: Divus's blood is thick, and similar to the blood of deep sea marine animals, it does not freeze except at ridiculously low temperatures; but it will expand when it drops ten degrees below normal body temperature and continue to expand as it's heat drops, to the point where blood vessels will burst and inflict damage on surrounding tissue. This dire sensitivity to cold tends to keep Divus out of the domain of Moloch, and he is hesitant to approach any ice demon in combat, as he is fully aware of the consequences...
xX - Unchaste: Divus's instinct to procreate can be perilous to himself; though he seduces others, ironically his weakness also happens to be seduction. For example he may know full well that a female demon is dangerous - but her apparent strength could make her more attractive, and he might breed with her rather than kill her. It's a foolish mistake... and perhaps the most dangerous place for Divus is in the arms of a beautiful lover, because if his own powers of lust don't overwhelm them their own will defeat him. Females also don't actually need to be attractive as much as they do strong, which puts Divus further in danger, as he'll be drawn to those who can defeat him. Fortunately for him however he is straight, thus limiting how often this may be a danger.
xX - Psychic Overload: Not applicable at the moment since he's yet to truly harness his powers of heightened awareness. But, Divus has a limit on how much psychic ability he could use at once; each apparatus which has a specific center around the use of such power also includes a set amount of 'Psychic Stress' it inflicts on Divus. His fractured consciousness limits how deeply he can push his mind back into enlightenment, thus limiting just how much he can perform at once. Psychic stress gradually disappears each post, but going beyond his threshold will render him unable to use any psychic-based apparatuses at all for a full four posts, after which he recovers and is at half his stress threshold.
xX - Rogue: This is a demon with no allies and many enemies. He has chosen the most difficult path of life he could've taken, all for the sake of the righteousness he lost - and the future likely holds many perilous and difficult times ahead of him, if not outright doom.
xX - Presence: Imagine life as a single pond of consciousness, in which individual beings create ripples with their existence; one who is psychic enough to be aware of this 'pond' creates a much greater ripple in it, so much so that even ordinary beings can sense that one presence of heightened awareness. Within Divus's range of heightened awareness, other beings will be able to sense him to about twenty percent of the effect at which he senses them. This applies to range and quality, likely leaving foes with little more than a vague direction of where he may be if near them. But as Divus's heightened awareness develops, it will become a double edged sword, as enemies will be able to sense him coming just as much as he can detect their approaches as well.
xX - Soul Thirst: Fueling his regeneration costs Divus Soul Essence, and though minor in most forms of injuries, to recover from major wounds he needs to take in additional essence. This cost becomes most apparent with multiple major injuries, as it's exponential and can become so great as to force him into a state of dormancy, much like it did when his body was mostly destroyed nearly six billion years ago. It is doubtful that his mind would remain as intact as it is if destroyed again - and to maintain the stability of his not quite fully recovered body, his intake of Soul Essence is also greater, and his demand for it is nearly gluttonous.
COLOURS:
Angelic (#CCCCFF): Ironically, Divus recalls more of the Angelic language than the Demonic one. Though few beings speak it still they will find his eloquence and vocabulary of it to be as well preserved as his appearance, perhaps more so. He prefers this language over all others; his desire to be an Angel again is, perhaps, the chief motivation behind the mastery of this tongue. Divus is proud to have this as his first language, and speaks it with love and enthusiasm for it's many beautifully spoken words.
Hebrew (#FFCCFF): The bible says that the Jewish peoples are the chosen people of God, so out of respect Divus learned their language through the limited means available to him. He is fluent in it, and rather advanced, though not nearly as much as he is in Angelic. This is his second language.
English (#CCFFFF): The language of most humans Divus has encountered. He could be called fluent, though he speaks in very literal and unnecessarily verbose forms, making him sound a bit foreign or new to the language. He also has a mildly Hebrew-like accent when speaking it. This is Divus's third language.
Demonic (#FFCCCC): Divus's least fluent language because he hates it with every fiber of his being. He mostly learned this just to spit hateful words at other demons before killing them for good, though it is at times a necessity. He knows basic words and phrases, and is capable of simple speech, but often does not understand or does not sound quite right. There is an obvious language barrier when speaking to Divus in this tongue; it doesn't even qualify as his fourth language, as he hasn't truly mastered it and has no plans on doing so.
TRIVIA:
~ xX Has fathered countless offspring, most of whom he's never met.
~ xX Doesn't seem to enjoy music.
~ xX Though he didn't side with Lucifer, Divus was sent to Inferis anyway for holding hatred in his heart for those he fought.
~ xX One of the few demons to survive defeat at the hands of an Archdemon
~ xX Seems to get laid a lot. Go figure.
~ xX Has an undiagnosed medical condition akin to incomplete amnesia; has feelings attached to memories that are no longer there, which is harmful to the mind if pondered.
~ xX The wet moist fluid which coats his lips is actually an aphrodisiac...
~ xX Divus's hair is cool and metallic to the touch, reminiscent of the actual silver it looks similar to.
~ xX Divus enjoys reading smutty romance novels.

Re: Divus [Demon - Complete]
It is acceptable that you have no mortal form, for there are those in the demon world that omitted such forms entirely out of arrogance, the inability to have one, or indeed they are fused. Nonetheless it shall be overlooked. Moving on.
Anyways, just a general question in regards to your character since he has regeneration. Can he regenerate from a decapitation? Pretty much the only issue that comes in concerns to your character, otherwise you are good to go.

Re: Divus [Demon - Complete]
Praise the sun!
No; if he's dead, he won't regenerate. Naturally the total destruction of a vital organ will certainly kill him - he wouldn't be alive long enough to grow it back.
However, non-fatal brain damage can be recovered from. The injury would need to be pretty severe, as he quickly recovers from blood loss, thus taking death by exsanguination off the table. He's easily damaged but his capabilities of self repair make conventional murdering a tad bit harder. It's likely someone could "kill" Divus and assume his unmoving body was dead, only to have not actually killed his vital organs, and run into him yet again a few days later in healthy condition. That is, assuming they don't wait around to see the soul essence appear in which case it'd be obvious something fishy was going on.
Basically, he's easily injured with defense just a bit below that of a normal human's, but will recover from injuries which he can survive and do so rather quickly.
