Isaac, the Templar/Demon Hunter Hybrid?
In the darkest way possible, I want to design a character around a twist on the tale of the Binding of Isaac. If you are not familiar, it's a story about God testing Abraham's faith by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac in God's name. Abraham resists at first, but eventually complies; he lies to his son, telling them are going to go hunting out in the fields. When they reach the altar, he binds Isaac's wrists and ankles with rope and places him upon an altar normally used to sacrifice the blood of lambs. Mere moments before Abraham plunges a knifes into his son's heart, God and his angels intervene to save Isaac.
In my version for this character, I actually want it to be his mother trying to carry this out. Stereotypical bible thumper bitch who suddenly thinks she is hearing the voice of God commanding her that her son (also named Isaac, for teh ironiez) is tainted with sin and must be cleansed. First, she takes away all earthly possessions at the kid's tender age of 5 - including clothing. When he turns 6, she locks him in his room, the door only opening to give him bread and water for the day. Keep in mind that over these two years he is slowly developing mental disorders from parental abuse and also mild starvation, which sets the pace for the final cog in the machine. When he turns 7, she is finally instructed to outright kill her son. Isaac, peeking through a convenient crack in his door, watches as she grabs a large knife in the kitchen. Panicking, Isaac turns his room inside out looking for an escape. Lo and behold, he finds a conveniently placed trapdoor to the basement. As he explores his escape route he is attacked by all manner of hallucinations and foul beasts: giant spiders, aborted fetuses of his unborn siblings, even fiends who live within globules of blood plasma. He also encounters the Seven Deadly Sins: Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, and Envy (thought not necessarily in that order). Overcoming all obstacles set before him by the basement and his own psyche, finally he is cornered by his mother. Finding a Bible by his feet he clutches it tightly as he accepts his fate... Yet God intervenes, a slab of the rotting floorboard falling upon her head and knocking her out. Taking the knife from her hand, Isaac begins to brutally stab her repeatedly until her blood soaked every last inch of both him and the basement. The mental shock sends him catatonic, and within his own mind he discovers he is truly just as tainted with sin as his mother believed.
As far as Joining the Templars, I have no ideas on that yet, but I am planning to use the motive of covering up his past and also trying to gain redemption of a sort with God. In short, he is misguided and believes the Templars are trying to ultimately close Inferis off from Earth and sees this as his chance to Heaven.
Personality: PTSD, Bipolar, Quirky but more in an autistic sense, really really terrible with people, an angry black man in a white man's body? The ends justify the means.
Combat Style, battle mage-reminiscent. For Templar Gear, he has earthly blades and guns, prefers the former. For first augment, planning on customized battle armor. Lv. 2 he would discover he is a demon hunter and would add 2 evocations, probably skill based. Lv.3 would be a second augment, and Lv.4 would be 3 evocations for a total of 2 augments and 5 evocations. Sounds balanced enough to me.
Oh. And I want to glue a baguette to his pants because immaturity.

Re: Isaac, the Templar/Demon Hunter Hybrid?
Long story short: this sounds like an excellent concept, but it'll have to be one or the other. No cross-classing as an explicit rule.
The main real issue here is obviously that the Templars are meticulous and the Augments are genetic in nature, so without him being heavily experimented upon from birth - due to genetic screening - and realistically being detained for his entire life and used as a guinea pig for the foreseeable future (as is protocol) there's not much you can do.
