OVERVIEW:
Sharpen:
This particular evocation allows Elijah to control the sharpness of any object, enhancing the cutting power of bladed weapons and making objects normally incapable of cutting extremely dangerous to the touch. So if someone were to swing a blade in his direction with the intent to cut into his flesh or remove a limb, all Elijah would need to do is meet or exceed the sharpness of his opponent's blade. When imbuing a weapon that normally couldn't cut with his spirit energy, it begins to glow with a red aura. The more energy he uses, the brighter its aura becomes. He can't really use a rock to punch through someone's body with ease, for the glow would be extremely obvious and easy to see. Especially when it's dark outside. But when he intends to harm or hinder by imbuing the object with enough energy to simply punch into the skin like a thumbtack or caltrop, it's much harder to tell. In some instances, he'll even imbue the ground itself with his energy to create a 'sharp mine' of sorts to shave whatever touched it like a cheese grater.
This isn't without its own issues, however. If Elijah clashes with a weapon sharper than the edge he set to his bare flesh, it will cut him. While it wouldn't be a terrible or life threatening condition, the pain would still be there. This ability is also quite useless against a weapon meant to crush bones rather than slice through them. While he could choose to cleave right through it, attempting to block instead of dodge would be foolish. The sharpening effect doesn't last forever, either. With each consecutive slash or outside physical contact, 1/10 of his energy is dispersed. This means that, if not connected to the source, altered objects have enhanced cutting power for about ten strikes and lose a little every time until they are reduced to their original sharpness. While this is the general application of his sharpening ability, he can also use it as a way to sharpen someone's blade 'permanently'.. But this requires a bit of time and patience. By pressing his index finger and thumb together with the intent to slice rather than altar and pinching the edge of the blade, Elijah can act as a mobile whetstone. It's much less practical than simply imbuing the object with his energy, but if he took the time necessary to pull it off, it'd be quite some time before the weapon would need another treatment.
Dull:
An extension of his first skill, Elijah is now able to remove the edges of weapons and other sharp objects. With a single touch he imbues the object with his spirit energy, causing a light blue aura to cover the sharp area. This aura seems to act as a buffer, a space between the weapon and its intended target. In reality, there are two ways for him to dull. Each of them with different degrees of effectiveness. The first way is by simply projecting his energy outward, using it as a form of shield against sharp edges. This means that as long as the weapon is contacting his skin, it is unable to cut him. The effect ends as soon as physical contact is broken.
The second way, however, is a much more troublesome situation. If Elijah manages to catch the blade or keep it held against his skin for an extended period of time, usually enough for him to drag his body across the entire length of the weapon, his energy will actually grind the edge right off of the blade. This can be fixed by simply sharpening the weapon at a later date, or Elijah could sharpen it for him. But you'd probably have better luck doing it yourself.
Forever Uncut:
Elijah's third ability takes the first two and extends them to his entire body. At first, he could only manipulate the sharpness of objects through his hands. If someone were to slash, stab or poke him with anything sharp, pointed or jagged, it would simply have no effect. Or that's what he'd want his opponent to think. While this ability has his practical uses, it has its own limitations as well. Elijah is simply unable to sharpen and dull with the same limb at the same time. If he were to try, it would be as if he were doing nothing as the two energies, sharpen and dull, would cancel each other out. Despite having this ability, he'll do his best to make it seem like he can only use his hands. The left for sharpening while the right would be used for dulling. It's a simple trick, but it can be very effective when used correctly.
While this may seem like he's completely immune to any kind of sharp object, this isn't exactly the case. He must continually activate and de-activate this ability to prevent overexertion. For example, if he were to block a blade with his forearm, someone could come from behind and cut his back. Naturally, a person can't defend against an attack they don't see coming.

REVISE
1] All good, Hunter - just that he shouldn't be able to dull objects. Too wide for a first power. He can sharpen them and revert them to original sharpness - but not quite dull them. Save it for Level 2, eh?
