PERSONAL DETAILS
DESCRIPTION:
Considering the amount of alterations done to her body, Devotions body is barely recognizable as human, from the face down, unless covered in clothing. Her silhouette still remains mainly humanoid, although she comes off as taller and leaner than most humans.
Standing up to about 1,95m (about 6’4’’) she definitely stands out amongst people, even when wearing wide clothing that conceals her obvious cybernetic body, as her height would outmatch even the average man. When not trying to hide her body however, her cybernetic prosthesis´ are clearly visible as blackened metal covers almost her entire body, as if cladding it in armor. However said metal merely works as a shell and protection for the mechanics working underneath. Very outstanding are her hands, which are larger than humans and shaped more like claws rather than hands, as each finger extends into a sharp, pointed blade.
Her joints also look awkward as their sockets are entirely round, enabling her to rotate and move them in any desired angle. She still possesses a faint womanly body-shape, however due to her altered body they are barely even visible anymore, safe for her chest. However… her face would still remain beautiful and even human, if not for her black eyes, surrounding a white iris, with no clearly visible pupil. Her hair is black, with a dull light consuming tone to it.
Yet even the expression on her face is stoic, motionless like a puppets´, rendering her alienating to the common observer. Her pale features are not meant to express feelings, her soulless eyes not to shed tears of joy or sadness. It is the perfect, beautiful, abhorrent face of a lifeless being. The monster she had become, in service for those who had saved her. And the woman who gave up on all she had left for that sake.
PERSONALITY:
Devotions general behavior is passive to say the least. She usually remains uninterested in most topics and barely ever participates in a conversation unless told to do so. Naturally she doesn´t come off as outgoing by any means. In fact… calling her socially awkward would be an understatement. Reacting to any outside source that isn´t associated to her given task in some way, or can aid her in accomplishing it, will mostly just be ignored. However there are some things that get her attention, amongst those are bragging people, who praise themselves beyond comprehension, as well as people who touch her.
The first kind triggers a faint confusion in Devotion, as she has a hard time to comprehend why; by all means anybody would view themselves as powerful in a world that basically doesn´t allow you freedom of choice, even if you think you have it. Not to mention the sheer arrogance and the violation of other people’s self-esteem through said bragging.
In cases such as these, Devotion would almost certainly approach said person, aiming to crush it´s confidence into the ground by whatever means necessary, in order to pull said person down onto the same level as the spectators, exposed to his unbearable bragging. The only people save from such assaults are other templar’s, as she views those as her superiors and her saviors, never judging any of their orders out of sheer principle. This is also what earned her the name… Devotion.
She´d follow every order, without questioning it, without even hesitating to follow it, be it as suicidal or stupid as may come. To her, orders are like the laws of physics to the human world. There is no way to question or refuse them. You may be able to alter and use them to your advantage, but you can NEVER deny or ignore them. The other aspect is that of getting touched. Whenever somebody touches her, this automatically draws her attention to said person, as she views this as an intimacy not appropriate for anyone to do.
Even another templar might earn a slightly uncomfortable gaze, or in case she likes said person/templar an embarrassed and confused reaction. However any other person would either be started at, till it lets go and runs… fast. Or she´d just touch said person back… except a lot less gentle, in case the touching person DID touch her gently. Attacks are naturally considered as such and retaliation occurs with lethal force.
However beneath the surface, Devotion is merely a timid, gentle soul that has a hard time understanding other people’s motivations, as she herself has none. She appreciates books, electronics as well as video-games and mostly uses her spare-time in order to play them or finish a good read. Aside from that she has little interests, aside from her weapons, equipment and colleagues. However she has no individual interest in other templars, she adores and admires the “templar” being as a concept. Whether the templar is an inconsiderate asshole, a soft-spoken prince charming or a stuttering idiot, is of little importance to her. Any one of these people means the world to her from the moment they lead her to the moment they part ways with her.
HISTORY:
Born in Georgia during one of the many Russian-Georgian conflicts, Devotion had no parents. Both were killed shortly after her birth, so the girl remained without a name, before war relieve troops, found the infant almost dead, immediately getting her to a hospital and upon getting better… organizing immigration to Canada for her. The soldier who volunteered however died only three months after she immigrated to said country causing her to receive the name of Jane Doe, a nameless Canadian orphan. Spending about four years in Canada, her literal lack of past or relatives attracted the attention of an organization that was in need of fitting subjects, to further a cause far more important than a single soul.
Thus Jane Doe was adopted by an Italian named Marcello Rossi, who however was nothing other than a Templar agent, not even part of the actual organization, but merely a henchman, used to keep a low profile. From the day she arrived in Italy and further the Vatican, her life changed. More than she could have ever imagined. She was drafted into a project, which was an ongoing R&D program looking into prosthetics and cybernetic implants. Receiving training from the very day she arrived, her body got conditioned and trained in ways that should allow her to endure and survive experiments ran on her throughout her childhood in order to make her compatible with a variety of cybernetic implants and prosthetics, she received bit by bit, as she grew. The more implants were added, the fiercer the training became. Not too long after her 15th birthday, she was sent on her first assignment, alas with another Templar who should control and rate her. Not known to her however was the fact, that other than almost all the other people used in said projet, she had survived. It is assumed that this was due to her very young age, thus allowing the brain and the body to adapt to the implants and replacements.
The mission was nothing really relevant to the Templars cause, it merely served as an grading mission, in order to estimate Janes abilities up to that point. The task was simple… search and destroy, the targets being a number of rebels, who shut themselves inside a building. It wasn´t even worthy of being called a combat action. Devotion indiscriminately slaughtered the lot of them, splattering their remains throughout the mansion in the process. As a result she earned top ratings, officially putting her on the list of active Field agents within the order.
Since then Devotion had been sent on mission regularly. Sometimes alone, with tasks specified before she was sent into the field, but mostly in the company of one or more other agents who directed her movements due to the orders unwillingness to let the subject act on its own without specifically assigned orders. Generally repulsed and alienated by the cyborg, most templars kept a distance to Devotion, using the fact that she was basically the churches possession as an excuse to treat her as a tool. Over time this notion sipped in into Devotions mind, as all her superiors started treating her as such. A weapon, not an individual.
She wasn´t human. She had no soul. She was imperfect, impure… flawed. So in order to accomplish purpose she´d have to serve those who were perfect. Humans. The epitome of evolution, the epitome of creation. Gods children and her creators. Accompanied by this notion every single act of kindness, be it a smile, a touch or a praise, made her feel joy beyond anything she had ever felt. Perfect being appreciated the efforts of a failure like her?! It was as if living a dream. Naturally her bond to whoever went with her and gave her the orders, was like her lover, her best friend and her parents, all fused into one person. The center of love and affection… alas never defined or recognized as such by her, who never had had either one of these. Yet she knew it was her only way to achieve something. It was the one and only ticket to have purpose in a world that didn´t need her. And it was the only way, to feel human. However… her instructors and other high ups within the order knew of this. As a result they never let a single superior remain with her for longer than a mission, effectively replacing her partners every time she got to know them in order to prevent her from developing feelings that would hinder her in fulfilling her assigned tasks.
All the while her missions started to become fiercer and fiercer, including active demon hunts in the other world, against almost suicidal odds. Yet she always returned, more or less intact. The first time one of her partners had died however… they had to send in a recon team in order to find out as to what had happened to her. The answer was quickly revealed. She had been sitting next to her partners corpse, crying and screaming in desperate confusion. All around her, the lacerated bodies of those who had killed her feelings again. Not even her comrades dared getting close to her, as the loss of her foundation had knocked her senses out almost entirely, making her lose touch with reality up until two months after the incident.
From this point on, the order decided to send her on missions alone. She had already proven her loyalty and efficiency hundredfold and it was time to repay her unshakable devotion. So since she was 24 the Templars kept sending Devotion, which became her official name, onto missions on her own. And she was and still is as efficient as ever. Cold. Calculating. Absolut.
Devotion.

SKILLS:
-Increased physical capabilities: Due to her extensive cybernetic upgrades and replacements, Devotion is capable of physical feats far beyond those even a top athlete could wish to accomplish. It effectively enables her to lift about 600kg (bout 1300Ibs) while also being capable of sprinting up to 40km/h (25mph) and running about 24km/h (15mps)
-Full Metal: Given that the majority of her body is covered in extremely durable steel alloys, her natural endurance is far beyond that of the average human. Thus her resistance against kinetic forces is very high.
-Free joints: Her unfixed, freely movable joints allow her agility and flexibility that would be impossible to execute with a human physique. Paired with her inhuman speed and strength this drastically improves her agility.
-Accelerated perception: This is a simple modification of her brain, deriving from her eyes, which allows her to react a lot faster to movements than a human could. She can percieve events at 75% of the speed a human would see, enabling her to react accordingly.
-Close quarters combat: She is extremely proficient with melee-weapons and unarmed combat, effectively making her almost entirely a close quarter’s fighter. Utilizing her High-frequency machete, as well as her altered high-impact sniper rifle, effectively transformed into a full slug-shooting shotgun and her body in general, she is extremely lethal in close ranged combat.
-Hacker: Due to her body being mechanized and augmented by machinery and electronics all over, she views it as a necessity to prevent it from being invaded by outside sources, utilizing extensive knowledge about her own soft and hardware, in order to prevent her body from getting hacked. Naturally she is also capable of using this offensively on opposing electronics and computers.
-Linguistic skills: She´s very adept with different languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Infernal.
-Numb: She doesn´t possess nerves in a sense that would enable her to feel pain anywhere but in her face/head parts or her spinal cord. Thus she has absolutely no consideration for or fear of pain.
WEAKNESSES:
-Antisocial: She can´t deal with people. Literally. She is as outgoing as a stone and as responsive as a dead fish. In other words, send her into a room with other people to get to information and you have to give her a pretext in order to even hold a conversation that isn´t entirely one-sided. Doesn´t apply to Templars though, they are exceptions… sometimes.
-Naïve: Yes, she falls for the simplest tricks. This is mostly due to her secluded life and withdrawn state of being. Telling her that her shoelaces are open wouldn´t work however… she usually wears boots.
-Horrible aim: Some call it a flaw in her system, some a side effect of her accelerated perception. Fact is: She can´t shoot anything outside of pointblank range unless she focuses on NOTHING but shooting said target. And even then the chances she hits are about 50:50.
-Devote: Yes, that´s not usually associated with being a “weakness”. However, if somebody is so devote they kiss somebody’s ass if told to, it´s definitely a weakness. Her devotion goes so far she´d follow any kind of order, no matter how absurd, humiliating or dangerous it may be. However, this only applies to other Templars orders. She wouldn´t even listen to a demons orders, unless told to do so by another Templar. Note: She doesn´t understand sarcasm.
-Lack of motivation: Although she follows every order given to her, there lies no commitment in her actions. She merely fulfills her own desire to function, beyond that there is no emotion in the actions she takes. No fury, no spirit no hatred, no love. It is the same as pulling the trigger of a gun. As a result she will never push herself beyond her limits with sheer willpower, as there isn´t any real will to the actions she takes.
-Heavy: Literally. She can´t swim or walk on thin ice, because she´d either sink like a stone or, break through immediately. The same accounts for frail or otherwise weak surfaces. She´s just too heavy to walk them without risking to break through them.
-Short circuiting: In case her outer shell is damaged, any contact with water of said zone, can cause systems to fail or even to shut down entirely, rendering her either extremely vulnerable… or it kills her altogether.
-Easily manipulated: It´s not that hard to manipulate her, given the right amount of time. However, in case it is anyone other than a Templar who´s trying to manipulate her, it´d require complete isolation from other Templars or else her loyalty would be impossible to break due to her immensely close bond to a direct superior.
-Bond: Her extremely close bond to any kind of direct superior, results in self-sacrificial behavior such as instinctively catching bullets or other attacks, directed at her superior in case it will hit without a doubt, from her point of view.
-No immediate self-awareness: Although she knows that she´s alive, she doesn´t view herself as a living entity. Instead she considers herself a tool. A weapon molded by the hands of the Templar, to be used by them, in any way they see fit for her. As a result she completely lacks developed human emotions and is like a newborn child in terms of emotional development.

REVISE
1] Birthdate: Considering site date is March 2012, September 1984 would make her 27. Haven't quite reached September yet.
2] Speed: Even with her cybernetics, this is far too fast for her to run. The lifting's fine, but this is somewhat implausible; the absolute limit of her Earth speed should be 25/30mph sprinting, and 15/20mph maintained.
3] Lyric/Quote: Either include one or delete it completely. ^^

Re: Devotion/Type-Omega Mark5#
Edited. Find that with the running a bit strange though. The highest measurement for a normal human was about 40km/h which is probably around 15-20mph. Not a big issue for me, but it would make 50mph (80km/h) just twice as fast, or not?
