OVERVIEW
The Hell Princes are ten individuals - or nine plus one - who rule a legion of demons - infact, nearly all of them - in Inferis, and hold the monopoly on Inferis' soul energy, the sole source of its refined, fuel form which flows through all life in Inferis. This essentially means that no Demon in Inferis can live without the Devil Spire - though that doesn't mean it has to be inhabited. Just active.

They are the only large power structure in Inferis and rule autocratically, possessing totalitarian control of each of the ten alterverse regions with no exception. Occasionally anarchy and chaos erupts for a short amount of time in one of the regions, but is quickly repressed due to the sheer amount of power and control most archdemons possess. Lucifer has established, with his nine lieutenants, nigh-on perfect control in his regime, ruling over Inferis with an iron fist.

By the negative nature of demons, it's clear that there would be some chaos simply due to their nature as manifestations of sin and evil in a tumultuous array of forms, but, that said, one of the major causes for dissent in most modern political structures is the issue of crime and punishment: this is not an issue in Inferis. Inferis runs on a dog-eat-dog survival-of-the-fittest world. Respect is garnered through combat, and those demons that have been alive for eons normally have been so because they can defend themselves.

Smaller cadres and cabals of elite or like-minded and specific demons operate within the Hell Princes and can have smaller faction pages, but the Hell Princes are the ONLY major demonic power structure within Inferis. For the time being, at least. What unites most of the Demons under the Princes' banner is just a general detest for humanity and their short-natured time on this particular globe along with how arrogant they are. Supernatural life is far more... principled. Simpler.

The Overlord unites the Hell Princes under his nine lieutenants, the famed and named Archdemons. They can be found below, each having rather devastating abilities - inquire with a staff member about these. The Hellguard are Lucifer's fabled and varied elite defensive troops (typically level 4), often treated as bosses and guardians for particularly important or prominent frontiers around Inferis, usually larger and more powerful. Hellguard were usually warriors or monarchs of legendary or mythical repute in past lives who had hundred of mortal kills to their name.

Elite Demons are a tier below, and is a broad term for just generally powerful demons (typically level 3 or 4) whose functions involve carrying out more dignified duties for the Hell Princes. Elite Demons were usually also great warriors, perhaps military leaders and generals. Size doesn't matter. Greater Demons (typically level 2 or 3) are usually just bulked-up and more uncommon variants of lesser demons, the elite footsoldiers and "special forces" analogue that tend to police the realm and the other cadres of demons (albeit viciously), similar to minibosses to the Elite Demons' and Hellguard's being bosses.

Lesser Demons (typically level 1 or 2) are more disposable and expendable, and make up a large basis of most of the Hell Princes' footsoldiers, similar to just an infantry force, typically viewed as easy to sacrifice for greater purpose. Usually footsoldiers or convicts in past lives, too. Finally, Familiars are only one rung up from fresh souls being tormented in the Malebolge before redistributed as soul energy: irritating little things, Familiars are almost always level 1, and tend to be around eternally as expendable manservants, scouting and reconnaissance parties, and living soccer balls.

EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING
Obviously dependent upon the type, breed, and position of Demon, most demons' power levels, equipment, and training are highly variable and individual to the demon, but possibly sometimes determined by their past life. Typically: the strength level of a demon is only limited by their Power Level, and their equipment only by the player's imagination. Archdemons, however, as one would expect, have a fearsome and more diverse array of skills from the offset - Archdemons begin with 8 entries in their Demon Apparatus, whereas regular Demons can only reach 6 at Level 4.
